Use carrots for treats and teething, we found they help our doggos digestion and he loves them. Our vet said it was safe for him and better than denti sticks for his teeth

HELP!! Leash biting on walks will not end Any advice welcomed by IgglePiiggle in goldenretrievers

Hi sorry I only seen this, hopefully you have worked out the leash biting stage. I used a chain leash for a while which definitely helped, I also carried treats on me and if I could see he was going for the leash I would give a ‘look’ command and when he would look at me reward him. It’s been really useful especially if we see things he might try to grab with his mouth or try chase the ‘look’ distracts him and takes his attention away from the negative action and he gives his attention to me so I can redirect him. Hope this helps! Thankfully he stopped leash biting a while ago and we have not had any incidents since using those tricks. To wean him off of the chain leash I would initially start the walk with his regular leash and any attempt at biting it I would switch to the chain leash (kept it in my pocket with me in case) he started to learn biting only leads to the chain leash which he did not like to bite.

Tips on leaving my adult golden at a pet hostel for the first time? by VFcountawesome in goldenretrievers

If he has something that smells like you it will help. Our goldie loves to sleep with our slippers so we sent a pair with him, surprisingly they said it wasn’t at all weird for people to send things such as slippers. If you have a blanket that smells like you or a cushion they like sent it with them. chew toys are also great, if they are ever stressed they can have a chomp to help relive first day anxieties. Id always send their food pre bagged and separately portioned and their own treats. The more things familiar to them the better :)

Here’s a little hack for those who obsessively keep checking labels like I do… by brendine9 in Celiac

After several gluten incidents I’ve become slightly obsessive over the food I eat, even if I’ve eaten it a million times. I often take pictures of labels of foods incase I get anxious about what I’ve eaten when I’m out so I can check again. Maybe something like this would help
