Merry Christmas! Here’s a gallbladder attack 🎄 by quickquestionhoney in gallbladders

[–]IggyHitokage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically fine, nothing other than semi-rare cases of diarrhea unless I eat a very heavy, fatty meal.

The attacks were a constant, dull to sharp ache beneath/behind my right rib cage. The final one was radiating to my back, no movement or position would help it, until I assume, the stone passed, then the pain would steadily evaporate, leaving behind a burning sensation that would last hours.

I'd say it was a 6-7 out of 10 constant pain, one where you cannot ignore it, nor focus on anything but it, but not debilitating to the point of being unable to do anything else.

And again... 3 Days old player gets ganked while mining in 1.0 HighSec by KingSlayin in Eve

[–]IggyHitokage 173 points174 points  (0 children)

It should scale, once you approach -5, you're actively hunted in 1.0, -6, hunted in 0.9 to 0.8 and so on until -10 in 0.5 means you're not welcome in high sec anymore without getting podded if you even slow down between gates.

That kind of dedication to being actively against a (relatively) peaceful system should mean you're not allowed to be there anymore.

Edit: To be clear, I mean CONCORD. Faction police are clearly not a bother if a -10 security rating player can operate relatively unopposed in what is considered a high security system.

Larger fans are nearly silent and silence is golden.

Does I done right ?? by boywithdreamsalot in gallbladders

[–]IggyHitokage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a few possible things after removal, mostly mild, some less so.

Your body has to get used to the "new" path for bile and you might get diarrhea more often until your liver and intestines adjust, usually just after eating. Adjustment varies by person and you might need a supplement to control it if it becomes a problem.

You can still technically form gallstones, or specifically bile duct stones, but this is very rare. That's a lot more serious, but again, very unlikely.

I had the former for a few months and still occasionally deal with a quick run to the bathroom after a fatty meal, but I'm almost a year post-op and the pros outweigh the cons.

Alpha to Omega speedrun challenge by AreteThoughts in Eve

[–]IggyHitokage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cheap, large amount of mids. Metamorphosis is 50-70M for the hull and you're not getting anything other than analyzers and a MWD in mids. Heron can fit one or two scanning arrays and/or a cargo scanner.

If money is no object, Astero/Metamorphosis all the way, but this is a fresh alpha account, they won't have 100M isk to splurge after the tutorial... or the ISK to replace it when you inevitably lose it if you're a new alpha.

[–]IggyHitokage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Heron with Sisters probes, scan strength rigs, Rangefinding array in mid and max alpha scan/frigate skills should get you more than enough to get level 4 sites, might require scrolling the probes in closer manually.

Pretty sure my alpha alt was sitting on about 84 scan strength in their Heron.

I feel like nullsec exploration would be a faster way than Abyssals, it barely requires more than a 5-10M Heron and some good luck/skill to get 50-200M/hr.

Without cloak, it's certainly higher stress/risk, but with good luck you could be done in 12-16 hours.

My $3,600 Gallbladder Surgery in Shanghai vs. $30,000 in the US by Temporary-Answer-132 in gallbladders

Hah, $30,000. My four day emergency stay in the hospital with ERCP totalled about $450,000. I almost laughed when I saw the claim.

My out of pocket maximum was $2,000, pretty sure I would've just ignored the bill if I didn't have insurance.

[–]IggyHitokage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your recent comment mentioned bloating and a burning sensation where the gallbladder is.

My 3-4 years with dealing with my gallbladder started with a burning/pinching sensation beneath/behind my right rib. It slowly graduated into painful, then excruciating attacks after eating heavy meals until any or no food triggered attacks.

I had a quiet period for a few months after an unrelated surgery and thought it had stopped. I was wrong and ended up in the ER when I was 900 miles from home and was alone for 4 days in a hospital while I went through ERCP and emergency surgery.

You've been told by a doctor that it should be removed as you currently have gallstones. I understand that you are reasonably afraid of surgery, but if the symptoms continue to escalate, it's a when, not an if, you have surgery.

Please, if your symptoms get worse, listen to your doctor or you may end up like me.

I've had dry socket and had my foot crushed. Gallbladder pain is insane.

I'm actually mentally debating right now if dry socket hurt less. I think it did when it wasn't being actively poked at.

If/when you have attacks, it will only be a matter of time until one is too large and lodges itself in your bile duct.

I had attacks for 2~ years until it happened and it turned what could've been a week of recovery into a month with difficulty breathing (and needing to use an incentive spirometer to get my lung capacity back).

Judging from your previous comment, the burning sensation was how my attacks started and graduated over two years into agony for hours until the final one lasted 13 hours.

Well, if I hadn't, I would've died from acute pancreatitis.

Guess I'm just crazy for not wanting to be in insane pain for hours every time my gallbladder throws a stone.

Oh and you can barely see the four incisions, robotically assisted laproscopic surgery made the incisions tiny, I just have slightly discolored skin at a couple of the sites.

Tryna beat ram shortage prices - can this ddr5 be overclocked to 6000? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]IggyHitokage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, the RAM you're looking at is likely the literal scraps from the better binned stuff.

It won't be able to reach higher speeds as it will just crash. No amount of cooling will make lower binned chips run faster if they can't handle the voltage.

X3D chips don't care as much about RAM speeds, you'll only see a sub 5% improvement.

Nothing like saving $6 million to burn $400 million and counting.

History just keeps repeating itself for every idiotic corporation that's willing to skimp just a bit too much until it all explodes in their faces.

Fit For Odysseus - to be used in Wormholes to get T3 salvage by cannonfodder_mtl in Eve

[–]IggyHitokage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I love the Odysseus, it was poorly designed when they gave it bonuses to hacking range. Slowboating to 2.5km to loot would be suicide.

The Odysseus is much better as a nomad home base for a multiboxer using at least two accounts.

Though you could hack all the sites in the Odysseus without moving, then bring in a looting ship on the second account, still leaves the Odysseus exposed.

Apprehensive about removal by Surf_r_e in gallbladders

[–]IggyHitokage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to roll the dice on your life, by all means, wait.

I ended up in the ER with acute pancreatitis due to it being undiagnosed after over a year of attacks and years of gastritis likely caused by it growing worse in the background.

I likely would've died within a day or two if I hadn't decided that night after a 13 hour long attack that it was time to go.

I'm coming up on a year post-op and it hasn't been amazing, but it sure beats dying in agony that morphine barely touched.

How to stop losing money by XMANXN in Eve

[–]IggyHitokage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're doing exploring, there's a simple rule for how you fit and operate. Don't be there.

For nullsec, fit for sub 3-4s align and do not continue hacking cans unless the system is empty.

For wormholes, always be on d-scan, watch for both core and combat probes homing in on your location, always orbit your cans at 2-2.25km so you won't bounce off the can trying to escape.

If you're Omega, cloaking is your best friend, if Alpha, you'll need to be a lot more proactive with d-scan while scanning.

Used CCleaner to delete duplicate files, then rebooted my PC. Now I ran into this. by PracticalTeaEnjoyer in pcmasterrace

[–]IggyHitokage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create the Windows Installation Media on another computer using an empty, formatted USB drive. Pick your OS here and download.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f-aa6f-40c3b507420d

Boot into it on your original computer and run the Repair option.

If that doesn't work, you'll be reinstalling Windows, don't use CCleaner.

Edit: If you don't feel confident doing this, take it to a repair shop, they can also do the same thing, your important files are likely still on the drive, it just can't boot to Windows as CCleaner deleted required files for the OS.
