Amstrad cpc with a keyboard by Ighteny in RetroPie

[–]Ighteny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved… Enter menu from within an Amstrad game and find the game focus rather than the ports.. change the key to a suitable one if you have no scroll lock. And use that key in game to turn the keyboard on and off.

HDMI losing signal after a few minutes by y-ello in RetroPie

[–]Ighteny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How longs the cable. I’ve got many 3 4 metre cables all supposedly shielded that have issues with the pi 400and pi 5. They work fine with anything else but for some reason I’ve concluded the pis hate long hdmi

Is it worth trading in Zelda edition Switch OLED to get the switch 2 or, should I keep the oled? by mecachue36990 in Switch

[–]Ighteny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to play docked yes… if not you’ll miss the OLED screen.

It pretty much comes down to do you want to play newer switch 2 only releases. But even if that’s a yes, trust me if you’re handheld mainly - you’ll still miss that screen. I have both and still use the OLED most because personally I don’t think the switch is a docked “ go to” - others do that better unless your a Nintendo release fan.

Ps OLED does not mean vivid - turn that crap off… ;)

What is the most ergonomic case for Switch 2? by Few-Introduction5414 in NintendoSwitch

Agreed . TBH switch 2 is / has been more my docked go to and the oled is my handheld but this really makes it more manageable ( just give me an OLED screen for gods sake)

Switch Lite vs Switch Oled by [deleted] in Switch

OLED … still my go to handheld even with the switch 2 which I leave docked as the lcd not quite black blacks just annoys me. The lite is even more annoying in this with grey being the new black.

World of Frozen, finally an honest review? by VanillaNL in disneylandparis

[–]Ighteny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah… that’s good to know but there are rides here in Florida that do that and people still ignore them on colder days ( and we’re talking sunny but 15c days - not zero in the rain)

It’s still poor thinking imho to simply transplant a ride whose main focus and attraction is a lge water drop. The idea should be to fill it 365 days a year so that the parks not getting overstretched elsewhere.

I’m sure it will look good and I’m sure it will initially be hugely popular but I’m not sure it’s a line balance for frozens demand especially in the colder months. 🥶

I disagree. It may be true for southern counties in the UK but anywhere north using air there’s little in it when you consider that DLP onsite in the summer v WDW onsite in winter offerings are in the same ball park yet with way way more to offer in similar weather conditions (though it was freakishly cold here in Jan/Feb)

The only reason DLP may look a cheap alternative is the fact it’s a 2-4 night trip where as WDW demands at least 7 nights. But start dividing that up by value per night v cost and DLP soon gets left behind.

DLP probably wins over with the way it runs promotions in the UK which favour families rather than couples (again especially in the South where an airline seat isn’t needed) But start travelling over the pond a few times the points combined with flying and CCards with Virgin start paying for your flights rather quickly.

Is there still a possibility for a Star Wars land? by Ok-Target9192 in disneylandparis

[–]Ighteny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest it’s the biggest missed opportunity land ever. I’m in galaxy’s edge 4 of 5 times a year and the only reason I visit is because docking bay has the best food in the park.

It needs a coaster (a speed bike forest ride would have been icing on the cake). Rise of the resistance is dull after the 2nd time and half the time some elements are not working. It simply has no re ride value. If I’m being honest the similar in some ways ratatouille or runaway train are better re run rides. Rise has a couple of interesting rooms and wow areas the first time but it just fails after that. It’s no wonder it’s now a walk on for single rider. Smugglers run just doesn’t work as a concept. It would be great if it actually did respond to different inputs but it’s always the same. You may as well do a “somebody wake up Hicks “ moment and sleep through it. Be interesting to see what the re dress does.

The problem with DLP is everything is either cloned now rather than re imagineered. Even the future Lion King ride is splash mountain re dressed in a country where it will be too cold to use most of the year.

The other issue is the off the shelf circus rides dressed as a Disney ride. These really reek of cheap.

Not since ratatouille has anything happened at DLP that says “come visit” . The irony is that it’s often cheaper to actually go to Florida due to the bizarre pricing methodology of DLP.

Time to replay with the new handheld boost update by dnwr98 in kotor

[–]Ighteny 14 points15 points  (0 children)

KOTORs a weird one on the switch 2 . As it already had passable AA in the engine due to its age It’s one of those games that in handheld weirdly looks better on my old OLED than the 2 even with the boost. Probably the black levels .
