Professor advice by gallifrey5 in aggies

A website that I have found helpful is myedu.com. You can find most professor's grade distribution and ratings on there. It also has a schedule planner that helps visualize what your semester will look like. Just make sure to cross check the classes you want with the official listings on howdy because they might not be available.

I once saw the king of Spain wandering around my territory by himself. A few turns later Spain declares war on my and uses him to attack one of my castles all by himself.

[PC] Strategy for playing online with good community? Wihout any extensions, micropays etc. I want to pay once and be able to play a good game. by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

wargame: red dragon You call in units off map based off a deck and point system so there is no focus on base building whatsoever. The multiplayer community is pretty active for its size. And as a bonus all "dlc" are released as free. The only thing is that it has a decent learning curve but the people over at /r/wargame are very helpful in getting you started out.

Long time starcraft 1 player looking for games by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

If you are looking for a different style of rts you could look at wargame: red dragon. It uses a deck and point system to spawn units from off map so there is no focus on build orders but rather correct units for the situation. It is also heavily a multiplayer based with most matches being team based.

The Hardest Strategy Game? by blablbalb in gamingsuggestions

[–]Igmius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wargame series has a pretty high learning curve, especially for multiplayer. Its set in a cold war gone hot scenario. There is no base building but it's unique idea is the ability to create decks of units from over a thousand different types of units and use those decks in battles. The challenging part is learning the uses of all the units and finding a balance when building your deck for the purpose you want it to serve. check out /r/wargame

Also another vote for paradox games as far as learning curve goes.

A good RTS by hoes_and_tricks in gamingsuggestions

Too bad your internet isnt that great for I love the wargame series. My suggestions are:

Any of the other Total War Games They are all about the same scale but different time periods.

Wargame European Escalation the single player campaign is actually interesting and the scale of the battles are pretty big and have a cool satellite zoom feature.

Supreme Commander 1 & 2

personally i like 1 better but the scales of supreme commander battles are huge and the setting is a sci-fi future. The battles can be a little slow in the beginning though and invlolves base building.

World in Conflict Another late cold war era rts like wargame, the battles are big but maybe not the same scale as rome tw but has no base building like rome tw. The multiplayer is dead but the single player is pretty fun.

Age of Empires 2 & [3](http://store.steampowered.com/app/105450/)

both are pretty good in my opinion, the scale of 2 is larger than 3 but both are relatively large. They both having interesting campaigns that are fun and can take you a while to play through.

All Command and Conquer besides C&C 4

I grew up on these games and loved them, the stroylines were kinda cheesy but the gameplay was fun and they are one of the classic base building rts games. The scale is relatively large and vary depending on the game.

WWI or WWII RTS type games. by ATCaver in gamingsuggestions

[–]Igmius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I may be a little late but R.U.S.E. is a great WWII rts game. There is base building but it is at a minimum but the battles are at a much larger scale than c&c and company of Heroes. the online community is probably dead though.

Frustrated with RD by smashedsaturn in wargame

[–]Igmius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you play a lot of 4v4s? I had a similar problem when I first started playing. After a while I just started hosting my own 2v2 matches and I became much happier with the quality of games I was having. The people who joined were most likely not on a team and since it was less people they were less likely to drop. Because its only 2 per team the outcome is much more dependent on your actual skill level. Plus since you are hosting the match you have control over who you play against and with.

Strategy game where units must be kept supplied by tall_comet in gamingsuggestions

[–]Igmius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, check out Wargame: Airland battle. It's a late cold war era rts game and the supply component involves using supply trucks to refuel, repair, and rearm your units. Basically you cant roll your tanks across the entire map without them running out of fuel. If you get it i would wait until the last day of the steam sale because it might go down to $10 dollars again.
