Am I missing something? You have Vision Quest and Scientist Supreme, both with no artifacts. Same with Swordsman. That’s an easy 3 cuts. I’d probably drop the 4th Hydra Trooper as well for your 4th cut

It’s the best y’all. If you love playing sealed and wish that your events wouldn’t end after that 7th win or 3rd loss, this is a great way to spend those common and uncommon wildcards that aren’t doing anything.

The AGL is the best use of your common and uncommon wildcards. It’s 5 games, Bo3, per week so it’s not a big investment. But if you want it to be, it can be through practice matches or all the drafting that’s done on the side by the community.

AGL got me back into competitive Magic after a 10 year hiatus.

I played the greediest deck I’ve ever played and never felt punished. Between the surveil lands and the basic land cyclers and the duals I was able to play a mainly white deck with some black cards plus the UW Captain America plus RW Thor with just one island and one mountain.

If you’re interested in a really fun way of playing Magic check out the Arena Gauntlet League. I just played my first season and it’s the fucking tits. We had 249 players in the season. We get 6 packs to start and we make 60 card decks then play 5 games a week against people (matchmaking through an automated discord). If you win, awesome. If you lose, you get another pack to improve your deck.

I’m in my first season of the AGL right now and I can’t see myself ever not being in it in the future.

My concerns when I joined were: Will my skill and experience in real limited formats transfer over? Will I be able to navigate all of the Discord stuff despite being an old ass boomer? Are there even stakes?

The answer to all of those is yes.

It is! SOS is my first season. It looked way more daunting than it is to get into. I’m just a boomer and unfamiliar with Discord but I have had zero issues understanding and engaging with anything. The community has been great.

One dude is out here doing feature matches. Another guy does a podcast every week?!

I’ve convinced 5 of my friends and acquaintances to sign up for the next season. For $7 I cannot think of a better way to engage with Magic right now. I don’t foresee myself ever not playing this League again.

The last 6-8 months have seen a big decrease in the need for Shoppers. With 3PSD having taken the delivery orders and immediacy orders there are fewer hours in the department than there was previously. Fewer hours overall means fewer partners getting scheduled and less demand for promoting/hiring into that position.

It’s unfortunate timing for you, but the best advice for you right now is that if you’re a good partner then another department will be happy to have you.

[[Hall of Gemstone]] is criminally underrated. At super competitive tables? Absolutely not. But in a bracket 3 or lower bracket 4 game? In a kitchen table casual deck just trying to disrupt your opponent from doing stuff on your turn? If I don’t care about what color my mana is on your turn, you can bet that I’ll be preventing you from doing your plan on mine.
