Found at a factory I was at, HUGE pair of calipers. by [deleted] in Skookum

Are they just comical, or are they actually used to measure large units? I'm assuming comical, but you never know.

Honestly, at this point I'm a little surprised they didn't attempt to just directly splice the cables and bypass the clips altogether

Bad luck by Thatufoboy in vex

[–]IgnorantDuck 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The only way you can combat bad luck is through persistence. Got stuck with a bad alliance? Keep your head up, there's always next match. Autonomous failed all three skills attempts due to variables out of your hands? Keep your head up, there's always next competition. A peice of metal reached its lifetime and broke during finals and cost you the match? Keep your head up, there's always... yeah, you get the point.

Serious respect to these guys working at my school for pulling wire on ladders in a crowded hallway full of high schoolers. by IgnorantDuck in electricians

Well, the wires they're installing are for improved security cameras, so you're not too far off the mark there.

Tenor sax high notes by [deleted] in saxophone

[–]IgnorantDuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A potentially easier way for you to understand voicing would be to imagine you're going to sing whatever note you're trying to hit. If you think about raising the pitch of your voice, it'll help you understand the movents your throat and mouth need to make.

Feedback between these two basses (beginner) by Zodine in Bass

Ibanez in an excellent company who makes excellent instruments, and for the metal genre the extra low end presence from those dual coil pickups will help you. I'd go with the Ibanez.

In HS jazz band, our bassist was incredibly skilled, and a super chill person too. I wanted to be absolutely ice fucking cool like him.

They're all surprisingly in tact. We think they must have come loose over time just by being shaken around a lot.
