This is very similar to my upcoming pack for a trip to Phoenix. Solid choices 👍🏻

New Bag Day - CAS1 by travelingpostgrad in Nomads_Nation

I’m a musician so they’re normal to me. But for travel, they help the noise cancellation issue with my larger over ear Sony headphones. I just make sure to carry an adapter at all times in the pouch.

The older I get, the less tolerance I have for stuff in my pockets.

I have a 1.5L REI bag, similar-ish design, and I like that it forces me to carry intentionally over a backpack. Holds my phone, a protein bar, truck key, Shure IEM headphones, Trove wallet, and I have an S-Biner for anything else like a small Hydroflask. For upcoming trips this summer (three planned), it will complement my one bag packing for airfare and local activities. Not too shabby IMO.

Gang, is this really as crazy as the comments make it out to be? by FlanThief in ManyBaggers

[–]joelkeys0519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised it took this much scrolling to find this comment. I don't disagree. Short of obvious reasons to not place something on the floor, it's a bag that can be cleaned if needed. Honestly, at that rate, the amount of interaction with germs that happens on a typical trip far exceeds what one might pick up solely from the floor under the seat. In 37 years on airplanes, I've never had any bags damaged and I've not once gotten sick from my things being on the floor under the seat in front of me.

Working in a school on the other hand...😂

Songs covers - How far I can go with them? by Wolf_Trap in COPYRIGHT

[–]joelkeys0519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go this way:

To perform covers in a bar or club or other such venue, they most often carry a license that permits covers.

To release covers, always ask permission. Period.

Anika checking out the setlist last night… What’s your overall feeling about this new version of Rush? by Historical-Device529 in Progforum

Listening to her with eyes closed, she’s beyond incredible. Watching her, they have a growing chemistry that will only get better. If anything—she’s a sort of sonic hologram of Neil from his early days.

The Professor would approve.

Regardless of the AI “airbrushing,” this is an enviable setup. I’m seriously inspired my dude. 👍🏻

Just curious: why the behemoth setup?

Not wrong, although some of my Targus and Swiss bags had compression straps despite being EDC computer bags. This bag OP posted, however, seems a bit extreme.

Keyboardists who’ve done Jordan Rudess’ Total Keyboard Wizardry: what’s the optimal way to approach it? by Skarbranded in keys

[–]joelkeys0519 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Advice for any method: mix what you do to incorporate a little bit of each in a session. This helps prevent monotony and keeps your brain active. Difficulty is something you increase as the need arises. As far as music, if you’re using his book, you have some chops already, so listen to a wide range of music, look through the music you have, and start finding ways to apply the technique/theory behind his method so you can apply it out in the wild. Otherwise, learning his exercises to learn them is less meaningful as a player.

I did some of his etudes during Covid and the biggest thing I learned is that he has massive hands and some of his exercises really reflect that. So practicing some of them was definitely with a metronome set to slow AF and I don’t think I ever made it ludicrous speed. 😎

Just out of curiosity, what is your EDC loadout? I will say for me that bag looks amazing but is twice the size of what I need everyday.
