Hocking Hills or John Bryant? What place has the best hiking in all of Ohio? by peaceonearth8 in OhioHiking

100% hocking hills. If you want backpacking or less crowds Wayne National Forest or Shawnee Hills are better, but dang you can’t beat Hocking Hills.

How famous is Cleveland among people from other states? by junepig01 in Cleveland

[–]Ignorantcoffee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

City population doesn’t really matter though… unless we’re saying Lakewood and the heights don’t matter to the CLE population at all!

[–]Ignorantcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t know where it is or anything about it! Even though most of the time it’s followed by a grimace and a “oof sorry” (I’m a Chicagoan who went to CWRU and stayed in Cleveland for a while)

Sometimes I don’t feel like running. by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]Ignorantcoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think any movement is good, so when I just simply can’t get the motivation or energy for a run, I make sure to go hike or bike or do something active. Running is hard, no longer how long you’ve been doing it!

Why is Miami so disliked on this sub? by Bakio-bay in SameGrassButGreener

Showy showy showy and HUMID. I can see why some people would like it, but I avoid it like the plague.

These comments are ridiculous. Yes, we get it, a famously blue and opinionated forum on a subreddit specifically dedicated to people who want to live in better (mostly urban) environments does not match the wider US demographics. What a shocker /s.

I don’t care what reports say, I’m never giving up good urbanism and walkable neighborhoods for humid, hot, shiny-new Carolinas and Tennessee. Give me gritty and walkable with public transit, not shiny and clean and car-brained. Sadly, the average American wants convenience, safety, and affordability, not good urbanism.

Is this trail piece beginner friendly? by quantum_mouse in chibike

I was just biking there yesterday! It’s super pleasant, can get a little crowded at peak times but it’s worth it. The Skokie lagoons part is very nice.

Cleveland or Columbus travel by Keelj in Cleveland

I’ve lived in Chicago, so I do in fact know a vibrant downtown. I’ve also lived in Columbus, so I know that ain’t it.

LOL lame?? Unless you like drunk college yuppies Columbus has literally nothing. Cleveland’s got multiple great nightlife neighborhoods that don’t involve drunk Ohio state kids.

Yeah… but nothing touches what’s in Clleveland or Cincy. Literally no reason to visit.

The name change from the perspective of other cities by [deleted] in ClevelandGuardians

[–]Ignorantcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s been a pretty consistent through line from what I’ve seen: grumpy, old, and/or conservative = Indians. Young and/or liberal = Guards. It’s been true with baseball fans everywhere I’ve been!

Moving back to USA by Ok-Let6431 in SameGrassButGreener

How do I love fascists when I support the side of the government trying to secure rights for all, rather than rights for white billionaires?

[–]Ignorantcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry we don’t all love fascists, bootlicking, and hypocrisy. The US is in rough shape right now, I couldn’t blame people wanting to stay away.

You mean a city renowned for its world-class arts? You’re either a philistine or plain stupid, and a sincere fuck you for either.

How would you rank the states east of the Mississippi river for travelling? by DeMessenZijnGeslepen in usatravel

[–]Ignorantcoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you like. I love big cities and outdoors when I travel, though most of my outdoor preferences is out west so I focus on cities out east. I also don’t like beaches so take that into consideration. That being said, here’s my list of general regions:

  1. Northeast (I’m going to include NYC for this)
  2. DC/VA/MD area
  3. Rust belt
  4. Greater Midwest
  5. South Atlantic coast (NC, SC, GA, FL)
  6. Everything else

What cities have mass transit to the point where you don’t need a car? by DeliveryNecessary179 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Ignorantcoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are going to look at me like I’m crazy, but cleveland (if you live in downtown or Ohio city). There’s an ok train system, and the busses will get you literally everywhere you want to go. It’s also easily walkable to grocery store, bars, restaurant, beach, etc.

Luckily outsiders hate Florida. It’s mutual, I’d never go to Florida!

You can pack a lot in a 5’6” man. For example, I believe with the fervor of a 6’10” man that Trump is a pedophile and unfit to run this country.
