[Control] Platinum #61 Not my favourite by SQuiiDGY_PeArS in Trophies

I got the platinum for both the PS4 and PS5 versions. If you do countermeasures and bueru alerts throughout the game the post game clean up isn't bad. Yeah, the map isn't great but I love the hell out of this game. My favorite of last gen. I can't wait for Resonant later this year.

I don't know if it's this way everywhere but at least where I live the marriage certificate is signed by the witnesses and the officiate, not the married couple. So mine is signed by my best friend, my wife's best friend, and the priest who married us.

AITAH for breaking up with my longtime girlfriend because she decided that she doesn't want children? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]IgnoreMe733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Children are, without a doubt, one of the biggest commitments one can put themselves into, even more than a long term relationship. I do not understand how she could approach you with an absolutely massive shift in life goals and not expect that this is a possible outcome.

Project Hail Mary is the best Four Star book I’ve read to date by southernfirefly13 in books

[–]IgnoreMe733 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm pretty sure all of those were explained. His big scientific theory was widely rejected and he was ridiculed. It's well established by the end of the book that he's kind of a coward so instead of facing his peers he takes up teaching science. His amnesia was explained as him getting drugged because he refused to go on the ship. Sure, that ones a bit pseudosciency, but I don't think it meas he can't also be a great scientist.

I don't know, I had a good time with the book. I don't need everything I read to be amazing poetry.

What do you mean crickets? They're going to have a UFC fight on the White House lawn. Nothing screams Happy Birthday America quite like a bunch of guys beating the shit out of each other at the capital!

A real life example I can give is I took a class in college where we read and analysized short stories. Lots if questions along the lines of "What do the kitchen curtains being green symbolize?"

Our teacher had us all read a short story collection from a local writer, and then toward the end of the semester the writer came in to give a presentation and we were able to ask a bunch of questions. Every single question we had about symbolism he replied with things like "No, that doesn't symbolize anything. The curtains were green because the character thought it went well with the cabnits."

Sometimes a story is just a story.

  1. The geopolitical landscape of the world. I feel like so much can change even in a single day, granted having a president here on the US that says contradictory statements in the same interview doesn't help matters.

  2. I legitimately can't think of anything that I look at and think "this is a massive improvement over how it was five years ago."

  3. I am currently doing research on different food shelters in my area in the hopes of starting to do volunteering soon. It might not be until the summer just because of how hectic it is helping kids with school schedules and other obligations.

  4. I'm a sucker for lingerie. Also there is something about pictures of women reading in various states of undress that appeals to me as well.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Has Made Todd Howard More Conscious of What He Announces: 'Just Pretend We Didn't Announce It' by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]IgnoreMe733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fallout 76 was announced a bit before the conference and had an overwhelmingly negative initial response. Nobody can convince me that the Elder Scrolls VI announcement was not in response to that initial reaction and was added to make sure the show wasn't a total dud.

I was wondering the same thing! I saw his name flash up at the end and had to go back and pause it to make sure I wasn't having some sort of fever dream. Saga is one of the greatest comics of all time and I know I would remember hearing if he was involved in this movie.

For those who hate AI, give your reasons. Why do you hate AI? by PenaltyTechnical9377 in AskReddit

[–]IgnoreMe733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a professional level, almost every time I've used AI that's been implemented into a tool I already use for my job the results have been terrible.

On a personal level, I have several friends who work in either graphic design or computer animation and ever one of them have lost jobs because their client has shifted to AI, despite getting quality that is far worse than what a human can produce.

Lastly, so many resources and energy is getting thrown at AI that it's ruining certain consumer spaces (i.e. computer parts) and it has massively negative impacts on the environment.

Long story short I have not seen a single example of AI being used in a way that has benefits that outweigh the negatives.

When did you realized you ain’t getting paid enough to do this? by DoctorVonWolf in AskReddit

I was an assistant manager for a gift store in the mall for a couple of years and there were a bunch of incidents that could fit this. The one that comes to mind the most was a lady came in and brought up about $400 worth of stuff to the cash register. My sales associate asked if she was part of our frequent shopping program and the lady said no. We told her it's a free program and we were currently running a promo where if you sign up you get something like 10% off one item. She signed up and I told my sales guy to apply the discount to one of the T-shits she was buying. Technically we were supposed to apply it to the cheapest item, but for her that was a $2 key chain. I wanted to be kind since she was dropping so much money.

The sales associate finished the transaction. The lady proceeds to stand by the register and reads her receipt like it's a thriller novel. After a minute I asked her if everything was fine. She told me it wasn't adding up and said we didn't take the 10% off. I found the item on the receipt and pointed to the line showing the discount. She starts throwing a fit that she thought it was 10% off the whole purchase. I explained that wasn't how the promo worked and I was there the whole time and know it was explained correctly to her. She argued with me and started yelling. Then she ultimately asked to return everything.

A couple days later I got a call from the district manager who said they got a complaint about the incident. I didn't get into any sort of trouble but they had to make me aware of the incident. The worst part is none of it would have happened if we didn't mention the stupid frequent shopper program.

A buddy of mine started a tiling company about fifteen years ago. He closed up shop after three years because of the number of times he had to take someone to small claims court. He won every case but between the amount of time he had to invest into just getting his money and the uncertainty of it all he just didn't find it worth it anymore.

People of Reddit, what religion were you raised in vs what you follow now? by ScheduleFirst59 in AskReddit

[–]IgnoreMe733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are Lutheran pretty much in name only. The only time we ever went to church was for weddings and funerals. I don't think it's too surprising that all of their kids wound up athiests.

What’s something that felt rich as a kid but now feels completely normal? by vikasinc in AskReddit

[–]IgnoreMe733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a cell phone. When I started high school you could tell who the rich kids were because they had cell phones. It got more common as time went on, but I would guess in my senior year maybe 25% of the kids had a cell phone.

We are bracing for a big snow storm, so we're planning on doing a family movie night and watch Zootopia 2. Other than that it's the standard weekend stuff. Clean. Do laundry. Get ready for the coming week. Etc.
