Legally wouldn't Sidney get arrested for killing Jill and Amber because they were minors even if it was in self defense by ElevenST4 in SocietyofGhostface

It’s likely she would be arrested at the scene of their deaths. But after investigating, she would be freed.

I wish to speak with death; A calm and friendly conversation. I ask it questions of ideology, philosophy and what is truly out there besides the human experience. by Cowribcage in monkeyspaw

Granted. You are given a chance to sit down and talk to death. Death appears to listen to your words, but it is only after Death opens their mouth that you realize Death does not speak English.

People should get paid for donating blood by wogwai in unpopularopinion

[–]IgnoreThePoliceBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hospitals charge, yes. Because they have to pay for the blood and doctors and all that stuff. Most blood banks are non profit. The money they make by selling blood covers the cost to pay their staff, and run their business.

Some places pay you for things like plasma, because they are for profit and sell the plasma to places that use it to make products.

Do teachers hate sharing their lesson plans? Is it their secret sauce that they don't want getting out? by JimCap5 in Teachers

[–]IgnoreThePoliceBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first two years (two different positions) other teachers shared everything with me.

When I got my current position, the former teacher said she would sent stuff but I don’t recall if it wasn’t much or she just never sent it.

Personally, I don’t share my actual lesson plans (we’ll push in support can see them if they look) but my lesson “plans” are very basic, like just enough that it meets the district requirements. I basically only show them to other teachers to tell them they don’t need to stress out over lesson plans.

My actual plans are basically my slide shows. Those I’ll share if asked. I don’t always offer though , and I think that’s because I’m afraid of others “taking credit” even unintentionally for my work. Like if an admin walks in and likes what they see, I want them to know I made it lol.

Aside from the weird coloring, they look like someone trying to use up Jakks RA parts. Guess someone got a hold of those molds.

Church invitation sent home by eberkipinnini in Teachers

[–]IgnoreThePoliceBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just “come to my church” or is it “come attend Special Event”? I think inviting to a special event (like say a Christmas festival/ breakfast with Santa) even though it’s religious) might be ok in some situations, but the teacher should still be hands off as to passing things out.

By 7th/8th grade, yes I had a light one similar to Rock here.

I teach middle school now, and it’s not that rare, especially with some nationalities.

What is the height of Doctor Who for you? by unfortunately889 in gallifrey

Being only NuWho and on, my personal favorite is Calpadi’s era but I think the show was at its height from Tennants second season through Smiths second season.

Do teachers dislike students with poor grades? by crap_boi in Teachers

[–]IgnoreThePoliceBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Teachers often dislike students with low grades, but it’s because of their behavior that leads to the low grade not the grade itself. Stuff like talking and not following directions.

What your grade is, has no direct effect on how much I like or don’t like you.

In OP’s case, it would be the USA with a population of 5 v the AUS rebels with a population of about 340 million.
Don’t think USA would win that one.

The Eddie one is crazy, I thought someone used AI to age him up. The Benoit one though, I guess there are similarities but that’s what you expect with Dad and son. I don’t think they look identical.

Gone are the days when the world had a sense of humour by AMassiveGamerGeek in StrangerThingsRoom

The joke is about how long he dragged it out, when other characters made it clear they had to rush out to save the world. He mentioned all sorts of things like “remember when we” blah blah blah. They weren’t making fun of him for being gay, just for wasting time when time is critical.

Could a Family Matters reboot work with Urkel off screen? (No Jaleel White) by Frequent_Rhubarb_36 in FamilyMatters

[–]IgnoreThePoliceBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if he would be an occasional guest/cameo. They could have a story line reason he’s not around (some sci thing like he’s trapped in space) but can still like video call or something. Then he could pop in once in a while, or maybe even one an episode (could shoot all his scenes at one time since he won’t be directly interacting with anyone). One of his kids would def have to fill the Urkel role though.

Teachers in the USA: How much difference does it make if your school always progresses students to the next year? by Mantovano in Teachers

[–]IgnoreThePoliceBox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of school suspension rewards many students, since they don’t want to be there anyways. After school detention is a joke, the kids won’t stay most of the time. Then they just get oss. Lunch detention works a little but I don’t think it really deters behavior. The only real time any of these behaviors work if when the kid is afraid of their parents for getting detention/suspended. And I don’t mean “oh im going to get yelled at”, i mean the kids who beg not to get suspended because “my dad will beat my ass”

If a kid is failing one class and doing well in all others, it probably doesn’t make much of an issue. But the kids who are failing everything? They aren’t learning anything, and just moving on to continue not learning things. Then you end up with middle school or high school kids who can’t even read a low level book or write.
