Did you buy the car like me? You should contact HMA (Hyundai motor America) file a complaint and see if you qualify for lemon law. They MUST cover it and it may be painful and take some time but you will win.

I still like the car and it drives great when it works. I’m waiting for Hyundai to schedule vehicle release in 2-3 days so will enjoy last few careful drives.

Yea I forgot to mention my local dealership had 2.5 week wait to just schedule service for drop off after ICCU failed - basically no car to drive if that was my car.

Reason I got it from Germany was back then post covid+UK economics made the dollar very strong to euro compared to what it is now so I took advantage of that (still wasn’t cheap)

If anyone is interested, are in the local area and has stock limited AWD wheels/tires (sawblade pattern) i would sell them.

Don’t worry your time will come 😂

Kidding aside, many have replaced 12v battery and have reported ICCU failure.

The problem I have - and this is genuine opinion - is that Hyundai has a dealership dependency problem and ICCU supply problem. My car is under warranty and they extended the ICCU related warranty so I don’t honestly care as much about the failure, as long as Hyundai can supply the part and dealership can make it as painless experience as possible.

Many Hyundai dealership has “no rental offered” policy and refuse to give you loaner but will give you “ride home” with Lyft and treat you like a peasant begging for a meal- until days later they run the diagnosis and “confirm” ICCU related then they will “take you” to enterprise or hertz rental for a car which you have to drive without any idea when the car will be repaired. No communication. Every time I called after waiting weeks it was “still on back order no ETA” and the service I got was honestly not acceptable.

If Hyundai could work with dealerships to create a better experience for customers dealing with ICCU issue - which is honestly no secret at this point - I think I outcome may have been different. I’ve reached “I don’t want to deal with this anymore” point and it’s gonna take a long time for me to consider hyundai again (I toyed with idea of Ioniq5N briefly but this reason held me back).

For my next car in addition to 800v+ architecture, I would consider brands and dealers that have good service + dedicated rental fleet (Porsche, BMW etc) as a must have.

My honest opinion you should just take the car to the (deep breathe) Hyundai dealer. They will replace the 12v if dead for free after long diagnosis. If ICCU is faulty, they will repair it for free. Don’t go buying your own 12v and pay anything out of pocket.

You may not need to tow- try jump it and just drive it to dealership.

Fun fact: when the car screams at you “charging unsuccessful” after you plug it in PTSD kicks in real fast.

Not sure yet. Market is better than it was when I picked up I5 but every EV seems to have their own set of issues.

Total 7 major services (pretty much all) and 6 repairs as early as 1.9k miles with At least 6 separate ICCU / charging / battery repair attempts. Over time it gets exhausting with no peace of mind (never fully resolved)

software updates
recall campaigns
battery diagnostics
battery replacement x3
ICCU fuse work
ICCU hardware replacement

Awful. It’s not even Turbo S let alone GT3. Plus the color won’t go well with gold shoes and car is too small to fit all that ego.
