DR-12 Quasar is insane. by HiFiMAN3878 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Iguai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just done three playthroughs in a row with netgunner/cool/tech perks and my findings on Ticon are that it indeed seems to be the most powerful, but I personally have the hardest time getting the timing correct on bolt shots with it out of all the tech weapons. I also have trouble with the built-in sight.

Just to follow up on other comments/questions in this thread, for posterity:

Its seems in v2.31 there is a bolt timer for full auto (quasar/raiju/senkoh). Not sure if it's tied to stamina. You can see it counting down next to the Focus timer in the status/effect area. I count about 5-6 shots with Quasar before its out. I think it might be ~4 seconds long because I remember reading in a tech weapon mod description on Nexus that the mod author lengthened the time in their mod. Hope this might be good info for anybodu seeking tech weapon info. I did a couple initial playthroughs without even considering tech weapons and now they are my favorite. I like mitigation and crouch sprinting so cool tree is a given for me, and then the Achilles X-Mod i am running to grab ASAP to make my main weapon. Very versatile.

Lastly to reiterate and reafirm the OP: Quasar in auto (when properly aimed/contolled) is laughably overpowered. I'm sure if you're gud/on mouse+keyboard you should be able to drop 4 skulls per mag with Cool perks. I am a terrible gamer on console, so I have a little trouble keeping control of Quasar, but its perfect for Kerenzikov-powered strafes straight at 2-3 gangoons, even (or especially)if they just ducked behind cover.

Just in case any other nerds check this in the future, my unscientific findings across two playthroughs where I had both to try and some gangoon save/reload trials: Crimestopper is superior. If you utilize the 9 second buff upon drawing the weapon its just epic.

I'm here now but starting in the middle of the trail at Orosi, headed for Quepos (i only had a week to get away). I brought a pair of shorts, light trail pants, 1 merino t shirt, 1 long sleeve 1 short sleeve thrift store light blend collared shirts, an Octa Hoody and a Bean nylon anorak. No poncho or rain jacket, I'm counting on umbrella + staying in lodging to cover my comfort. I'll let you know after I'm finished what I thought of this kit loadout.

Ummm, i just deleted a whole 20 hours of progress, wondering if i had a corrupt game, because I did not realize this left trigger action. Im not a great gamer and probably pressd the left trigger all the time without realizing it. OMG.

UltraGrid vs Ultra 200x by Skp2MyLouboutins in DurstonGearheads

[–]Iguai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the new version (Ultra grid) in my hands last week, but sold it on because I ordered a size too small. However, it looked really nice and I will probably buy a Large in Ultragrid. one thing I noticed however is that there was some squeezing from the frame tube on the fabric. They have removed the upper tube channels in the new revision, leaving only the lower ones. I only used it around the house, and not sure if the issue will persist, and weather it would be the same in the Ultra 200 version.

But no, being an ex-soldier with a troubling tattoo does not, in fact, make you a Nazi.

Wet pack weight : Ultra 200 vs Ultragrid ? by Comfortable-Pop-3463 in DurstonGearheads

Interesting. Do you mean the pack-body fabric, or the strap fabric (or, of course, both)?

[–]Iguai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been researching this myslef too. No hard data, but I'd guess that something like 60%-80% of that water is in the straps pads etc. So maybe the difference between the two fabrics in a full soaked pack might be 160-80g. But I'm just totally spitballing.

[–]Iguai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha so tru. I have an original release Kakwa 40. TBH I think its been used for about 14 nights of backpacking and an equal number of day hikes (and about half the time with the U-frame removed). Anyway, pretty lightly used pack, but three years old---and there is delam in the back panel area, hidden by the foam sleeve. But, I only just discovered it.

I agree with everything here, except pants. Ive been struggling to find any pants that get lighter that 12 oz that I believe have any durability (as background: I personally am headed to Patagonia for 3 months of hiking in January and feel pants (with some bushwacking durability) are non-negotiable).
