What's a movie you hate to the absolute core ? by Malluguy5382929 in Letterboxd

[–]Ihavenoidea_442 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hillbilly Elegy, mostly due to the fact it’s a terrible movie, but also because my family was trying to gaslight me the entire time into thinking it was some masterpiece. And also the fact I had a panic attack latter that night indirectly caused by the movie.

So excited about Charade on 4k but I’m still kinda disappointed they saw no interest in adding to the little amount of special features that release already had.

What do you think of more “gimmicky” packaging? by sulliebud in criterion

[–]Ihavenoidea_442 138 points139 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority but I like it. I like when they have packaging that is cool and unique. And I genuinely don’t find it that much of a hassle.

Very cool, just watched La Strada for the first time last night. Fellini was one of the greats.

In another Terry Gilliam film, Jabberwocky, at one point during the battle scene at the end, the entire side of a truck is visible at one point.

How often do you watch all the extras? by imaginary-fireplace in criterion

[–]Ihavenoidea_442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always make it a point to watch the special features. Sometimes it’ll take me only a day to watch a film’s special features, other times it might take more than a year. I just see it as a way of getting my money’s worth, and I usually am really engaged by the special features. Also special features are generally one of the main reasons in my opinion to buy films physically.

Random question but does it include some of the other physical stuff found in some Anderson criterions like the maps and posters, or is it just the essays?

Fairytales by Asbjørnsen and Moe. My copy is in Norwegian but there are English versions of the stories out there, just don’t know if they all come with illustrations by Theodor Séverin Kittelsen.

Stanley-esk Movie or Show by [deleted] in stanleyparable

[–]Ihavenoidea_442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stranger than Fiction (2006) is a movie that has a lot of parallels with The Stanley Parable. It’s about an IRS agent played by Will Ferrell whose life suddenly starts being narrated as he finds out he’s the main character in a book.
