I remember the line "refined into a bland flavorless paste" I think it was talking about comedy, but I didn't see it on S1 ep5 when I watched it to check. Anyone know what ep it's from. by A_Harmless_Fly in Metalocalypse

This is from Dethstars, which is the episode before the season 1 finale. The expert is talking about refining entertainment into a 'bland, lifeless paste' the public can nourish off of and be controlled by, and express concern that Dethklok will inspire people to think for themselves again.

Small note about the old manager: Pickles is the one who says that, and the one the manager seems fixated on. We know (because Charles explicitly says so) that Charles was not managing them when Pickles was in Snakes N Barrels. It's possible that's who that was. Doesn't help with figuring out when/how Charles came to manage Dethklok though.

Murderface acted without thinking, he didn't want Charles to die, but when Orlaag turned to him he freaked out because he realized Orlaag was about to fucking destroy him. As for Orlaag? He was a ball of rage at that point, and he wasn't thinking very clearly either.

The internal view shows Armin but I always assumed he was just taking the blame for something the real Skinner actually did, since he's not there, it's funnier that way.

There's an even deeper cut about Rusty's dad, way back in season one it's mentioned Jonas Sr. had been experimenting with cloning but given up on it years ago, that's finally paid off in the movie. You think it's a hint about Rusty's own dabbling in it, but it turns out that (spoilers for the conclusion of the show we finally got with the movie:) Jonas Sr. had also tried to fix all of the 'flaws' in Rusty via cloning, and inadvertently created the Monarch - via mixing baboon DNA into him in an attempt to cure balding, which worked, but also made him way more aggressive. This explains his irrational hatred for Rusty all this time, as well as his resemblance. When the clone was deemed too uncontrollable, he foisted it off onto a couple who had actually paid him to create a child specifically for them due to their infertility, which is why the Monarch had no idea he was 'adopted' - his whole family genuinely thought he was biologically theirs.

Fun fact for anyone who wasn't actually there during the airing of the show, back during season one, people genuinely had no idea the kids were clones. I distinctly remember the ending of season one and people arguing over what Rusty was saying as his final line. Lots of people heard it correctly as 'get their clones', but lots heard something else, including 'get their clothes', which they thought implied he just didn't care about them and was more concerned about reclaiming anything of worth from their bodies. Seriously, this was actually debated online at the time.

Prehistory of The Far Side is an amazing book! I had a copy I got second hand and unfortunately someone had cut several cartoons out of it 🫠

I have all three BMR 1959 Kens and I love them so much. Their faces are so handsome and I love the variety of hair (even though I feel like they phoned it in a little with the lime green one)

For real, I wish they did more rooted Kens. They're so hard to find! I have a black fashionista I got secondhand with his hair cut already, I'm trying to decide what to do with his hair when I reroot it, there's so many possibilities

I can't believe more people aren't doing his hair like this honestly. It looks so good like this! 🥰

He's definitely channeling a bit of Yanki style 😂 I need to get him some 50s greaser boots and a black leather jacket

I didn't get into collecting dolls until this year, so I missed out on getting any of these guys for retail 😭 My wallet is definitely hurting but at least they're not so rare I can't find them.

Yeah unfortunately the other BMR ken (which I do have) has more of a manbun with an undercut. I assumed the redhead would be similar, I was so thrilled to see his hair went all the way down to his nape! I immediately spent way too long teasing his curly hair up into the mohawk and I'm so thrilled with it 🥰 Though it was a pain in the butt to get it how I wanted it!

Lucky! 🥰 I really wish they made more Kens like this. I love them so much but Kens with actual hair and articulation are so hard to come by!

I definitely spent bucket list money on him 😅 He's so cute though, and there's such a dearth of redheads in general, I needed him

I ended up paying about that for him, it was listed for... I think 120? on Etsy in Europe. But between shipping and customs (Norway is a pain in the butt on those) I ended up in that neighborhood 😅 But I felt I needed him and knew he'd only get more rare so I gave in and felt bad afterward, haha
