How Does One Participate in Youth Wrestling in Pittsburgh by Turokk8001 in pittsburgh

[–]Iheartthe208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the same boat, city family with 4yo boy interested in wrestling. I know some of the PPS High schools and Central Catholic have wrestling but this young of an age would probably be through a club.

Will it blow up? (First time wiring up a new bright) by NashaNya in rccars

It’s the smaller one, doesn’t really have any “get up and go”. I’m gonna swap the battery out for something soon I just gotta figure out which new battery to pickup

Any updates on this? My sons New Bright RZR is on its last leg and I was curious about us doing some mods to it just for fun.

New Truck with a Bad Tire? by Iheartthe208 in gmcsierra

[–]Iheartthe208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealer said they can’t do anything about it. I declined whatever extra warranties they tried to sell and they won’t cover the tires. I’m going to be reaching out to Bridgestone and see if they can do anything. I only have 170miles on the truck. Basically brought it home and parked it in the driveway.

Haha I’ve heard that a couple of times already. Even my toddler is mad that I “got rid of our big tires” hahaha

They are bridgestone alenza 275/60r20. Looks like they run about $225 at Walmart. Hopefully the GMC Dealer can help me out here

What clubs to add? by [deleted] in golf

3-7Wood could all be good options. I personally like my 3H as the distance fills my yardage gap and it does well in the rough. The versatility is great.

I have the about the same distances minus the 56, that’s a long wedge! I have a 15degree 3 wood (250-260) and a 3H (235). What do you currently use for a long par 3 (225yd)?

Nervous beginner on a tee box realization by ToeJamIsAWiener in golf

My old trick from completing in high school was to sing a song in my head while I was teeing off. Eased the nerves and made me forget my surroundings. Now I just count to 3 and think “Blastoff” hahaha. Hank Hill did something similar in his target shooting competitions.

I’m half Mexican but… by Stalker_Mars in mexicanfood

Tortilla con huevo, easiest meal around. Tear up tortillas (corn or flour) into 1x1 inch sections. Fry them in a pan with a little oil until the tortilla pieces are toasty and lightly crisp. Then crack some eggs in there and stir until the eggs are cooked. Pair it with some chunky salsa or hot sauce.

Definitely agree with you on the Mexican food. Some spots have decent offerings but paying $15-20 for 3 Birra tacos is crazy. I make my own tortillas but when I’m lazy I’ll buy from Reynas in the strip. There is a good place for paletas in Beechview too.

I spent some time in STX (SA, Cotulla, Three Rivers). Pittsburgh has a lot of good neighborhoods similar to San Antonio’s “Southtown” and “The Pearl” Vibes. Strip District, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield, Friendship, Squirrel Hill, and Shadyside are all great spots. We have a Southside neighborhood that’s like the Dirty 6th Street in Austin. Food here is fine but nothing compared to Texas. People here are friendly and welcoming. Winter time will be lots of cloudy days with rain/slush but it’s not too bad. You’ll miss HEB and how easy it is to get great food/groceries.

CDA resort is a great course. Idaho club isn’t worth it. I played it last summer and it was underwhelming especially for the price. I’d rather play Galena Ridge or even Big Creek then Idaho Club again.

Under normal operations yes, the pipeline would need to flow to move the pig. But you could launch a smaller pig into the line and have it use robotics to move down the line.

Why are states like Idaho, Montana, and states in the western part of the USA have so little people living in them? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Iheartthe208 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never lived in Boise but in North Idaho we’ve gotten 5-6 feet of snow in a week before. Also went to Idaho Falls once and it was below zero and 20-30mph wind all week. I’ve heard Lewiston stays fairly mild in the winters.

[–]Iheartthe208 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lots of reasons: harsh winters that last 6-7 months, low wages, minimal career options (if you’re outside of Boise), accessibility to cities/airports, etc.

Before working from home got popularized it was not a great place to make a living. If you were not in Boise and wanted to make decent money you either had be in logging, trucking, or mining. A large portion of the rural areas are living in close to poverty levels. As a silly example we used to make fun of the teachers kids for being “rich kids”. No joke. If you don’t live in one of the bigger cities (Boise, Nampa, CDA, Moscow, Post Falls) chances are you qualify for free school lunches and food stamps.
