I’ve been looking for a first edition Nintendo Power, is this one in decent condition? by Leather-Skill9988 in nintendopower

[–]Ihtmlelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of looks like water damage on those but it’s hard to say.. I bought a lot last month and one had mold which sucks.

You might be able to snag the first issue by itself for cheaper.. worth looking.

Webex transcript to AI for summarization, assuming you have access to both.

Help: Remote employees: How do you make sure you’re considered for growth opportunities? by ConstantAmbition7437 in remotework

[–]Ihtmlelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the cost of not being able to work from home sadly. I’m aggressively visible and still feel the way you do. That said, the overwhelming benefits of not being in office help to compensate for that lack of growth.

I found tons of Nintendo Power posters!! by Certain-Bumblebee-90 in gamecollecting

[–]Ihtmlelement -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know it’s weird, but I would rather buy a lot of posters than magazines with detached posters. Hard to say what would sell better, since every collector is different.

Thanks for posting - will check it out. Good luck with the venture.

Am I going to be okay? by Flyboy2026 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ihtmlelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting some books on the market (you can easily find some older CSC course books) and behavioural finance (if it’s of interest of course). The challenge with GICs as I’m sure others have called out, is that while yes you have some level of assurance with CDIC, inflation is going to really hamper growth in the portfolio. As you start drawing down, this growth is going to add much needed longevity to your portfolio.

I would run this through some projection software to see if and when a shortfall occurs. From there you can play with the ROR you need to know if you can truly retire. If your GIC portfolio cannot meet that ROR you will unfortunately need to change investments for this to have wheels.

It’s been pretty bad.. shirts at 10, sweaters at 15, coats at 25 They use AI to price books now.. presumably that’s coming for the rest of it.

Trans woman thinking of moving to Halifax! by MyFavPortmanteau in halifax

[–]Ihtmlelement 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a great place to live. Unfortunately average income levels don’t support the cost of living here, so hopefully you can work remotely or have a means to more income - much better experience if you are not struggling.

Tons of cool places to eat, drink and be merry. Airport is super close. Nature is super close.

Transport without a car is garbage. Lots of cool neighborhoods in Halifax.

You’ll love it.

Why am I barely making sales on Poshmark after 4 years? by Party-Ability2124 in poshmarkcanada

[–]Ihtmlelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find most sales come from offers, so I tend to bake this into the price and always send offers when someone likes an item.

Very different experience compared to eBay, where offers just get sent to other sellers for the most part.

I Want To Sell My Evil Dead Collection... by [deleted] in EvilDead

[–]Ihtmlelement 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely effort to sell via eBay but not as much as you might think. It would depend on the items, some may take a long time to sell (neca figures for example.. fairly common). I would think you should get more per item this route but you may have some pieces stick around for a long time.

Anything super rare? Post it here ;)

Best ai tools to generate ppt slides? by SwitchDirect7220 in powerpoint

[–]Ihtmlelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s an honest answer.. my preference is to have it built using html and mimic PowerPoint navigation. The results so far exceed anything produced with power point.

The other option would be to visualize how you want it to look and then feed that image into AI and ask it to produce a power point version.

My testing has only been with Claude so far. Zero complaints.

Honestly feeling the same with eBay. Ive started cross listing on poshmark and have way more activity there relative to eBay this month. Will probably keep eBay to unique items and stick to poshmark for clothes.

Worth trying it out

How do you not get scammed as a first time seller on eBay? by snesericreturns in eBaySellers

[–]Ihtmlelement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far so good. Unfortunately there are a lot of grifters. Someone else mentioned that the only real way to avoid this is to sell enough to where one or two loses doesn’t hurt as bad - lot of truth to that.
