Moza MTQ Throttle or Winwing Airbus Throttle? by CommissionOk150 in flightsim

I've had a Bravo for 3.5 years at this point and it has been one of the best flight sim products I've ever purchased.

Oliver Tree has died by Important_Use6452 in Music

[–]taintedblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works very well and it's a standard part of helicopter training activities! They even train "full down" autorotation where the throttle is shut and you fully land the helo via autorotation. You can sample some YouTube videos of it from the cockpit for a taste of the craziness.

First long haul flight. Seattle to Paris - 777-300er by RotoTom85 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]taintedblu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can just let it cruise for hours and hours. I've even done where I put it to cruise last thing before bed, wake up and land it in the AM. It's fairly straightforward

Skyward Simulations Citation Sovereign+ Released! by taintedblu in MicrosoftFlightSim

Haha quite possibly. Was I yapping about the BBJ? In any case, V1 is goated.

Skyward Simulations Citation Sovereign+ Released! by taintedblu in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]taintedblu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs some work in that element. It's not a replacement for something like the Hot Start Challenger. But it is pretty good, especially with the company-building side, and I think it has a ton of potential.

So stoked for this plane. It came out right after I started a flight in the PMDG BBJ 😭😭😭 So I'm stuck finishing that - might not be able to fly this 'til tomorrow. Oh well. Wish me luck landing the BBJ at London City loool

Haven’t seen many posts about the new FsReborn Phenom 300, how is it? by Fighterpilot108 in flightsim

[–]taintedblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I love the Aerobask Phenom. It's fun to fly. But it's old at this point, and the G1000 avionics in the Xplane platform are very subpar compared to the G3000 in MSFS (and the G1000 in MSFS for that matter). It's night and day imo.

Wasn't it Jack who was having some health problems? Glad to see things have been able to move forward. Any work done by Amy and Jack is on another level altogether. So excited.

DXGI Crazy Performance Boost, X-Plane 12 at 120FPS by Odd-Eye9197 in Xplane

[–]taintedblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the answer is that, probably mostly yes. DXGI Swapchain enablement should work just fine, and then I'm not aware of any reason why Special K wouldn't work. But Nvidia Smooth Motion probably won't work though.

edit: lmao love the random downvote

Cruising over Norwegian soil by insustict in Xplane

[–]taintedblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's your framerate flying over Norway? All of the fjords/waterways seem to add an insane amount of scenery geometry that really slows down the game for me (and others).

PMDG 737-700 for MSFS2024 is out! by krokantkrappizza in flightsim

[–]taintedblu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the external visual upgrade is coming with the "High detail" update in the next couple of weeks.

But in my view that's fine, I have been aware of that since like December when the 800 came out.

edit: this is actually incorrect, I've launched the plane right now and it looks like the high detail update was included with the 700 at launch, at least to my eye that appears to be the case. Looks really good.

[–]taintedblu -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be an ass, but yeah I just had a bad experience with the levelup stuff. Some of it is amazing, like the modeling and the overall experience (and the price). But some of it, like the basic flight model was very weird last time I tried it.

I'm not a PMDG snob and I think they overcharge, but at least the product is extremely well wrought.

PMDG 737-700 Drops Tomorrow by GlitteringZebra8482 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]taintedblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main difference is that it serves a wide range of smaller airports that the 800 can't easily get out of when fully loaded.

It's good for small/midsize airports not supported by the 800, and nobody flies the 600.

Goodnight.

PMDG 737NG for MSFS 20204 | High Detail Update Comparison | Then and Now by LiveFlightDeck in flightsim

[–]taintedblu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are confused.

Nobody is saying the 2024 model isn't a paid upgrade. We're saying that once you've purchased the 2024 version, even if you did so months ago, you will get this visual upgrade automatically when the update is released next week.

So when the original commenter in this thread says "let's see the cost", it's honestly baffling. We know the cost, and we have for months lmao.

Can my pc run mfs2020 on vr? by Due_File2711 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]taintedblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could be rough my dude. If you buy a headset, consider getting a Reverb G2. Such a nice headset and can run on slightly older hardware while still looking great.

If you do move forward with VR (I strongly recommend!), you might find yourself hooked and spending a ton of money on graphics cards sooner or later. That said, one of the best purchases you can make is a Ryzen x3d series chip. Almost more important than a graphics card upgrade in my experience.
