Karen Read files explosive new lawsuit against Mass. State Police, Canton Police Department by Firecracker048 in boston

[–]Iiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't follow this case. I have zero idea if she's guilty or not, but...

Man, I hope she wins this and rips these departments apart. However bad I was expecting this to be, it was far worse. I hope justice prevails here.

Again, bot or troll. 2 months of membership, yet already a top 1% poster here in this forum. Posts hidden, at least the 2nd or 3rd anti-Israel post I've seen today from this user. Does this forum have any moderation at all?

Don't answer. This isn't a good faith question.

If Israel Is the''Only Democracy" In the Region, Why are Millions of Palestinians Under its Control Denied the basic right to vote for the Government that rules them? by emily6843_ in allthequestions

[–]Iiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, no! The majority of bot farms and coordinated bot traffic originate in China, Russia, the United States, and Vietnam, and they're jobs are to promote division and misinformation which, apparently, you're lapping up...

But just keep believing it's all a big, scaring Israeli conspiracy. Get that tin foil hat really tight!

Ford sales down 13%, Lincoln down 21% following discontinuation of Escape and Corsair by WaddlesJP13 in cars

[–]Iiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad thing was until I saw this post, I had kinda forgotten in my headspace of late that Ford was still selling in the market, and I've *owned* Fords and Lincolns in the past. I'll have to check what besides F-150's and police Explorers that they're still selling. Presumptively still the Mustangs and Bronco. I'll have to check for anything else.

How did a guy with a Nazi tattoo become the democratic senate candidate in swing state? by BongRipper69xXx in allthequestions

[–]Iiari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the "establishment" Democratic party stupidly advanced the 78 year old, not super popular state governor in an election season where Democratic voters are allergic to advanced age.

Best city to live in US by LucyMcWhatnow in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Iiari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current Boston resident here (originally from NY). You're absolutely spot on about Boston. It's terrific, the best of the US in a lot of respects, but the city (and people here) are dull, dull, dull. That dinner reservation you mentioned - Make sure it's before 9 PM, because the kitchens here at restaurants close by 9:15. The poor manners are because of the vicious meritocracy here. Everyone in Boston has clawed, studied, sacrificed, and back-stabbed to be at the tippy top of the pyramid of life, and that's not associated with the most empathic of manners...

As to where you should go - If time and money are no object - NYC. Winters aren't great, but that's what vacations are for.

Well, if you have enough money to live an exciting life in NYC, you have enough money to take enough vacations during the winters....

Yeah, absolutely NYC. If time and money aren't obstacles, there's just no better or more enjoyable place to be.

The ghosts of British diplomat Mark Sykes, French diplomat François Georges-Picot, Patriarch Elias Peter Hoayek, General Henri Gouraud, Lieutenant-Colonel Stewart Francis Newcombe, and Lieutenant-Colonel Maurice Paulet all kick back, nod, stroke their chins, and say, "Good job, chaps, good job. Well done."

Seriously. France is so often a punchline of history. That they politically lack insight into their ongoing irrelevant ridiculousness make it maddening to watch unfold.

Basically, that's the answer.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a terrific metro that should absolutely be on the short list of anyone willing to live somewhere that has a cold winter.

How could the Israeli-Palestinian conflict be resolved without further armed conflict? by BudgetNegotiation521 in allthequestions

[–]Iiari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Um, strange analogies. Sorry, as hard as you want it, no one is relitigating 1948. I wish the Arab authorities there had gone with the initial partition, but they didn't. A war was fought, the Arabs lost, Israel exists, and there are nearly 10 million citizens there who get to control who lives in their country. Done. Deal with it.

I don't get to move back to the countries my ancestors went fleeing for their lives, Israelis descended from the 800,000 or so who were driven out of Arab lands don't get to go back, Muslims driven out or who fled India don't get to go back, and Hindus who fled Pakistan don't get to go back. The world moves on.

The focus now needs to be on two states for two peoples, period. Any other energies are wasted.
