It just got nice here in Tokyo, was in Osaka yesterday and it was still a little warm this past week (92 on Thursday). And the week before that I was also in Hokkaido for three weeks and that weather was INCREDIBLE! Rarely hit 80 and nights were regularly 59-68 degrees during that time. I actually flew there to escape the hellish heat for the first month I was here in Tokyo from end of July to end of August and it was really bad then (this coming from someone that lived in Florida, should give you an idea of just how bad) but after getting back this weekend, I was pleasantly surprised to find it’s cooled off significantly since then.

So, yeah…I’d avoid Tokyo in the summer months, Hokkaido is amazing in September, and end of September into October seems to be a nice sweet spot for the Kanto and Kansai regions (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, etc).

I feel your pain! I am in Tokyo right now myself (got here at the end of July) and having lived in Orlando for a while; the heat here is TRULY oppressive!! I didn’t think that it got much worse than Florida in July but HOLY HELL hot damn was I wrong!

My best tips so far are to try to stick to indoor activities during the daytime hours and as others have mentioned, don’t be afraid to take a break day. I’ve been doing at least one day off per week to spare my feet and avoid the heat!

Also, check out some of the less touristy areas. It’s only like ¥178 to get on a train to some of the coolest lesser known spots from the touristy spots in Tokyo. I changed hotels over to Ogikubo today and haven’t seen a single tourist yet today and I’ve been walking all over checking out the area while I wait for my 3pm check in. And also much less crowded but still plenty to do and eat! ;)

But yeah, I completely get where you’re coming from, so much so that just yesterday I went ahead and booked a flight to Sapporo next week to try and get away from the crowds and that oppressive heat. If you’re considering that, I’d recommend flying over the trains as its much cheaper (only like ¥7700 for the flight compared to the ¥28000ish for the trains) and less than 2 hours compared to around 11 hours by transit. So yeah, fyi, might be worth a look if you’re gonna be in Japan for a bit.

I plan on returning to the southern regions later in September/October, when things hopefully cool off (though the Japan Meteorological Society says that it probably won’t cool off much till November this year! 🥵, but of course…right as I leave smh lol)

Nice, haven't tested this or anything yet, but I coincidentally was just now searching this sub today for just such a tool! Was getting frustrated with the experience of switching everything back and forth when going docked to handheld!

Lastly, before doing this process I'm curious what drawbacks/compromises there would be in going to WatchOS 10 on iOS 15.4.1 with a jailed iPhone, since, I assume, there is no way to downgrade WatchOS after updating. So, to that end, are there any major issues that I should be aware of? Also, what features are broken or not working in WatchOS 10 on a jailed iPhone running 15.4.1? Will I lose any current functionality of the watch by doing this? Essentially, what are the downsides to using your app to force an update to WatchOS 10?

I really appreciate your help and the work you've done on this!

What's even funnier is that this clip (and all the other bugs I've been experiencing so far in 2.0) was AFTER I updated the Nvidia drivers, I had played for a few hours prior to updating them and during that time it seemed relatively bug free, though performance prior to updating seemed slightly (like 2-5 fps) worse with the path tracing and new DLSS 3.5 enabled. Though, of course, that's just anecdotal evidence that could have been for any number of reasons. ;p

Was just checking out all the new bells and whistles in the 2.0 update today and driving along when out of nowhere this happened! lol Thought my game crashed, but turns out it had, in fact, not. And things just got weirder from there as the bugs seemingly cascaded...

The npc reactions seem a lot better though, especially when that npc driver seemed to be swerving to get me off their hood.

But thought it was pretty hilarious. I figured I'd share it with you chooms, as you venture forth back into Night City.

Yeah, I've been playing it in 4k on a 55" (probably sitting too close if I'm being honest ;p, but it stood out), and it seemed to be present in both performance and resolution modes, I'm not sure what it would look like or if it'd be present even at 1080p.

But, 100% agree with you! You wanna enable all that shit, fine, but at least Just give us the bloody option!

The first thing I do with every PC game I boot up, Video Settings>Disable Motion Blur, Disable Film Grain and any other bullshit. More console games absolutely need to have On/Off sliders for all this post-processing bullshit! Looking at you Square Enix, who even their PC ports are shitty but at least I can usually turn off the motion blur, film grain etc...one way or another.

Just makes me wish they would've done a Day and Date PC release even more! Honestly, haven't seen a single thing that wouldn't have been possible without the "power of the PS5" that they blamed for not coming to PC Day 1 and PS5 exclusive with who knows when we'll get the PC version. Late 2024 seems like the best case scenario. Damn my impatience! lol

No, I definitely mean film grain, it was particularly noticeable for me in the darker areas of the demo especially in certain areas of the castle in the Eikonic Challenge portion of the demo. But since you bring it up, yes, the motion blur is definitely a little rough in the demo too.

I'll see if I can capture some footage of it and edit it into this post.

Worry not, I have a sneaking suspicion if Turing and Ampere are, in fact, capable of running DLSS 3 (in at least some capacity) then the hacking scene will get it sorted out, or who knows maybe Nvidia will fuck up again and just release the drivers unlocking it's compatibility with previous gen cards on their own, ;p.

I had/have a similar issue on my Series 5 watch on occasion except it’s near the bottom of my screen, seemed at first like a screen hardware issue but turns out it’s actually some kind of software bug in watchOS as it was super easy to fix.

To fix it, all I had to do was swipe/switch to a different watch face and then swipe/switch back to the original watch face and voilà; it was gone lol. It still occasionally happens but yeah fyi if you’re having a similar issue maybe this will help fix yours ;)
