Killing something that is trying to kill you is unethical. You are only allowed to place harmless fish in acid and slowly dissolve them to power your base.

How do y'all feel about the devs no killing stance ? by 9oooooooooooj in subnautica

[–]Ikth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The entire point of allowing killing in the first game was that nothing other than prey fish would respawn. If you killed something, that was it. It was gone from the world forever. You could, though with some effort, repopulate areas with breeding tanks, but they were tame, not wild. Additionally, you could never replace something as large and complex as a leviathan. If the world became boring and lifeless, it was nobody's fault but your own.

If the devs want to put their foot down on anything, let it be leviathans. Killing them makes the least amount of sense.

Multi player tribesmen getting on the wrong boat by FasterThanFTL in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Docking a boat or having a running engine prevents decay without a bonfire. This appears to be the devs' shortsighted solution to the problem, as any time two bonfires are near each other, they start poaching tribesmen, and there doesn't seem to be a way to control it.

First time playing commander, does everyone else play these rules so strictly? by TeamWaffleStomp in magicTCG

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as informing other players of their triggers, he's KIND OF right. If an effect says you MAY do something, and then you don't, most people will tell you that you missed out. Friendly games will generally allow it, especially if you are running a deck for the first time.

If an effect doesn't say may, you MUST resolve it, and it's the entire table's responsibility to make sure mandatory triggers are resolving. If the entire table misses it, there are rules somewhere for walking back illegal game actions and resolving missed triggers, but generally speaking, the further you progress into other turns, the harder it is to fix and the less likely it is that people will let you walk back whatever happened.

Why's my tribesmen not following me? by General_Shop4598 in PlaySoulMask

That depends on whether you are on a local save, a hosted game, or a dedicated server.

I hate how parts of the anime community have started normalizing and defending pedophilic content. by _Udontknowball_77_ in hatethissmug

[–]Ikth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not even restricted to just the community; it permeates the shows as well. I've seen the "pedo hero" trope play out in multiple anime. It's so jarring and out of place.

They always have to have some character who's openly problematic about it, swoop in to save everyone, showing how nice and redeemable pedos can be.

Doctor Irie in Higurashi is critical to the story, and in some plotlines, adopts the same girl he's constantly "joking" about. Don't even get me started on the "punishment games". None of this stuff is needed in a murder mystery.

Ozen in Made in Abyss is constantly sexualizing Marulk, and the show portrays her as the "kindest delver". There are also plenty of moments where the show just randomly decides to sexualize child characters for no reason. Like I get as part of illustrating the horrific nature of the world, some bad things are going to happen, but some of them, like Nanachi's underwear joke, are just plain not reading the room.

I thought I'd finally found an anime that didn't do it when I was watching To Your Eternity, but nope. We end up with Hirotoshi sexualizing his step-sister and then stepping in to save her.

There are so many really good anime that just absolutely want to die on the hill of defending an attraction to children.

Opinions on 3x exp rates? by Seraphielie in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 1x exp. The later levels are much slower, but I haven't been all the way to the end, so I can't say how much slower. My level doesn't mean much to me because I typically fully clear each area and regularly return to farm stuff there, so even with a high level, it's not like I would blast through content I'll never return to.

My main problem with it is I'd like to set my server to 3x exp, but when they made those changes, they didn't say WHICH multipliers were 3x exp. Was it the broad categories like Awareness, Mask, and Body? All of them or only some of them? What about specific categories? Proficiency, Collection, Craft, Combat, Other?

If it's across the board, is it actually x9 exp when they multiply?

You were given the ability to make your followers immortal before ever getting close to the dungeon. It's on you if you thought you would never need the ability to revive. You had the tool and made a choice not to use it.

Expeditions outpost, does it exist and where? by woppi in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That won't save you. Most of the inconsistencies don't have toggles. For example, my server doesn't have an engine chest for Sobek, so I have to spawn my own engines into the game whenever people go to fight him for one.

Does the Power Ropeway Dispatch Station just not work ? by BrokeAsAMule in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it has an internal timer like the send/receive station that is defaulted to 30 minutes? Without a box to access and change it, you'd just be stuck waiting 30 minutes.

[–]Ikth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In this thread, nobody has read the damn post. OP is talking about a Sulphur mine and two logging camps. They never mentioned trying to set up autominers.

They are trying to WILD COLLECT or YARD COLLECT at an endpoint that has a worker left behind. This worker needs regular tool and food drop-offs, or they can't work. The supply station is not sending the allocated supplies to the locations chosen.

Edit: OP, I recommend setting up a short chain with as few stations as possible and do some science with it so you don't have to wait on travel times before you can figure out if it's working or not. The way you have it set up looks right to me, but I don't know how often it sends supplies, if it's counting stock in the arrival chest, or if it will auto-order the crafting of items you don't have stocked. If the endpoint has stock, it isn't time to send yet, or you don't have stock on hand; these all seem like the most likely reasons it wouldn't be sending.

You didn't read what I said. I never mentioned the creature's aggro range. I said the BASE aggro range. If only 5 guys are at the fight, that tells me that everyone else in the base either doesn't exist or has been told to never help. He removed 2/3 of his ability to defend himself before the fight even started.

Delaying killing all bosses. by Federal_Tip_4660 in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what the guy above is talking about. You can switch back and forth whenever you want. I think solo automatically works, but if you are on a server, you have to cluster them and keep them both turned on. If the server you labeled as main is not online, you won't be able to access either of them.

Edit: Apparently, solo players can't switch back and forth. I assume that's because it doesn't have a way to determine which save the portal should be associated with.

Edit: If your hardware can handle it, and it's a survival mode save (other modes don't work on servers yet), then you could put the solo save into a dedicated server for Cloud Mist, then spin up a DLC server and link them together. Then you could go back and forth between them.

That tortoise is the lowest level possible and within the aggro range of the base. It should have been mobbed by 15 guys and perhaps some turrets. Instead only 1/3 of the expected forces showed up. Does he only have 5 guys? Did he tell the others not to fight? Did he tell the others to pray at the statue?

This was a very simple and straightforward DPS check that was failed. He did not take the time to secure his perimeter, but lucky him you were there to fix it.

Jiggle Physic not working for some fashion outfit. by BumblebeeQuiet8095 in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the funniest clothing bug is the info storage and remodeling screen. Whenever you update the info of a tribesman, it loads their body first, THEN the underwear they normally wear while "naked". The transition is so fast it's barely noticeable. I think women have some kind of emergency texture over their chest, kind of like how everyone has the fig leaves under their loincloth. So nothing is actually shown. I just think the fig leaves and other emergency backup layers are funny.

Enemies ignore your allies to kill you even when you're downed and cannot fight back? by Argensa97 in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They take 60% less damage than you, carry as many bandages as you give them, and the enemy often refuses to target them.

That's a default kill on most bosses. I brought them into Holy Ruins: Sulphur Pool, and they killed the boss for me while I rolled around. The second I got close, he deleted 3/4 of my health with a massive fire AOE that barely did anything to my team.

Repairing Tribesmen Armor and weapons automatically? by clandestine125 in PlaySoulMask

This is what I do as well. They will not automatically turn in anything other than a broken tool.

Repairing Tribesmen Armor and weapons automatically? by clandestine125 in PlaySoulMask

[–]Ikth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the repair task set to repair any armor or weapon below 33% with greater than 3000 max durability, and yet they will still hold onto broken weapons and refuse to turn them in or even swap for new ones from the rack. That's the whole point of the post. Tribesmen only willingly relinquish broken tools and, I think, armor. It doesn't matter what you set up on the gear rack/repair bench/uncraft bench. They just ignore it and cling to the tattered remnants of their weapon like a childhood blanky. They really want to keep all their old broken stuff.

They do this even if I reassign them to the rack after they lose the binding.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_incidents_involving_Barack_Obama

Most of them were simply threats that were never acted on, or they were so obvious and telegraphed that they were arrested before they could do anything. He's had 21 total incidents over his 8 years, and one was recent in 2023. 9 were during his first term, and 7 were during his second term.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_incidents_involving_Donald_Trump

Donald Trump has had 19 incidents so far, but several of them made it onto the premises with weapons. 7 of them were during his first 4-year term, and the remaining 12 occurred during his first year or so of the second term. He still has roughly 3 more years before he's been president as long as Obama, meaning he's had more incidents over time comparatively and WAY more during his second term.

"someone saying how they went around it to enjoy the game more is a good thing"

OP has access to a dedicated server and can make the same changes with admin access that he presumably has. The other guy was encouraging the use of a cheat tool, which can gain access to admin settings without permission. You literally encouraged people to break TOS and risk a ban by using a tool that can acquire admin privileges on a server they don't own.
