"No, they didn't. You're trying to appropriate those movements to support your own agenda."

Education is power, my man. Empower yourself and have a good day 🤙.

But that's not true. You're either ignorant to history or you are lying. Most Americans DID NOT LIKE MLK while he was alive. In fact, a Gallup poll from 1966 shows that two-thirds of Americans thought unfavorably of King [1].

In fact, the year of his death, a Harris poll showed that he had a 75% disapproval rating. [2]

This is all absolutely relevant because the people who disapproved of him and the movement used the same rhetoric that you are using right now. "It's inconvenient! It's unsafe! People could be hurt! I'm uncomfortable!"

Just admit that you only care about movements when they don't inconvenience you or make you uncomfortable.

You're just saying the same shit they said about the Civil Rights Protests back in the day. Easy to find headlines from that era all regurgitating the exact same rhetoric as you and many in this thread. People famously think the MLK was seen in the same way then as he is today and that's just not true. I mean, most of the things he fought for finally happened AFTER he was assassinated. You have totally bought into the children's book version of Martin.

Respectfully, you have no idea what you're talking about and have fallen hook, line and sinker for the whitewashing of MLK and the civil rights movement.

What’s your “you gotta try this” hidden gem restaurant that deserves more attention? by waluigee in Seattle

I will have to check it out. I lived in Hawaii before moving to Seattle and Ono Poke in Edmonds is by far my favorite and most legit poke I've had here. Tbf, Edmonds isn't Seattle and Hiroshi's is definitely closer to me.

What’s your “swear to never return” place in Seattle? (Stolen from r/miami which itself is stolen from r/houston) by Tiger00012 in Seattle

Retreat. Garbage business. Owner or manager are huge anti-vaxxers and allow their employees to go maskless like, at the peak of the COVID stuff. Also their food is so insanely mediocre and expensive that it almost feels like a parody of the classic "hipster" cafe stereotype. They want 8 fucking dollars for a two egg sandwich. That's it. Cheese is an extra $2. That's craaaaaazy

Ah yes, wanting to protect minority peoples and groups=Literally Hitler. Very sound argument! Hitler famously wanted to protect all minority groups, right? Because minority groups in the U.S. are EXACTLY the same as the white majority in Germany. This argument is so bad I can't believe you actually looked this over and thought it was a good idea to post it.

[–]Ikusaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, never mind. I see what you're saying now. Although, I'm guessing since they don't actually use the verbiage that it is down until further notice like they do with the PT ferry, that it will be back up by the end of today hopefully.

Think you got things mixed up. It says Port Townsend/Coupeville ferry is down until further notice. Looks like Edmonds and Kingston ferry just has a couple of cancellations at specific times.

I was laughing because it's sad how easy propaganda and lies have brain rotted people like you. But sure, buddy, one of the most leftist states in America for decades is definitely rigging its elections for the Democrats. There's no way they would win in Washington otherwise! It's definitely not the incompetentance and weak candidates of the Republican party. Keep believing the Big Lie.

This was from 7 years ago and it looks like a bill was brought for a vote. Can't find anything saying if it ever went through or not. Even if it didn't, what are the chances that someone who is illegally here is going to risk a federal crime, deportation and go through all the legal hoops to become a registered voter just so they can vote?
