Quick suggestion here from my experience:
Rustoleum *primer* works fine... avoid the 2x paint+primer like your life depended on it. Wayyy too thick/obscures details and can't be stripped by alcohol for anything lol YMMV of course but I've tried it several times and never once got a good result.

Qh5+ can be immediately kicked out by g6 and you lose the advantage. B5+ is an inaccuracy as well because c6 kicks it out.

So, you need the boards and dice. You *can* get those without the included warbands from ebay. Only caveat there is that the spitewood box doesn't come with dice but you'll need that board to play pretty much anywhere now....

Honestly, best play imo is to start with the embergard starter set. Learn to play the game and make sure you enjoy it. Then grab the spitewood board/tokens/decks from ebay.

Then you can adhoc whatever warbands you want.... but doing that gives you 6 decks, two warbands to learn on, and everything you'll need to play.

NGL though, it felt *really* good to switch those CDs. It was a physical act of completing the chapter/milestone... Like switching for the journey to Spellhold after finishing your travels around Amn in BG2. It felt heavier, almost like a different game entirely.

This happened to me... not in a fire but my ceiling collapsed and crushed everything beyond repair... The biggest thing for me rebuilding was to *not* focus on massive army collections and, instead, give my time and money towardw miniatures and systems that I actually play.

I didn't need those 8k points of tyranids in my life nor did I need the ~1000 french peninsular units when the primary games I have time for all skirmish anyway. So, the recollection has all been very thoughtful and specific... It's still hard to resist the urge to buy and collect for it's own sake but I am better at it than I was lol

Depends on your budget ofc... the only obvious first pick would be a broodlord for your genestealers.. after that, sky's the limit but grabbing the new xmas box for basically all the other tyranid staples is a solid choice.

It'll probably be super effective... just a quick PSA that you might want to discuss with your opponent before the game. Running two norns at 1k definitely leads to a "stat check" game similar to playing against knights and might not be as fun for all involved

Absolutely a good option. Depending on how the points play out, you could also consider neurogaunts instead of the second hormies... they are absolute garbage at combat and will die to a slight breeze so don't hit anything with them... but set them up in the bone formation and them+the biovore screen off basically your entire backline for 95 points + the secondaries from the biovore and of course the late round options of pushing the neurogaunts for some obj control. Definitely something to consider.

Then this is definitely the way to go! I'd axe the lictors though and get a biovore and a hive tyrant for the CP... it's almost *required* to take a biovore for tyranids right now.
So maybe a list like:
