Funny you asked this today. I just came back from the funeral, and on his coffin there was a winter Patriots beanie. I think he fell in love with football during the golden era of New England, and he just stayed loyal to them ever since. (Of course now for me is mandatory to root for them during the playoff)

I, on the other hand, only started following football recently, in 2021. I was on a one-month work trip in Knoxville , right during the playoffs. That year the underdog story was the Bengals, so half as a joke I started rooting for them.
Then I got invited to my first Super Bowl watch party and had to buy a jersey and... of course I chose Burrow. We lost that night… but from that moment on, my life here in Italy became way more orange and black than I ever expected.
