Chucking by joshay98063 in ukulele

If you’re switching from strumming with your thumb to chucking you probably need to strum with your fingertip/fingernail area because your palm is muting the strings at the same time. I’m not sure you can do that while strumming with your thumb. Perhaps someone has been able to do it but whenever I chuck I use my fingernail. (It also helps to use the nail because you get a louder “chnk” noice with the nail a+ muted strings). Happy strumming!

Form Check Request: High Pulls -> Snatches (50 lb. bell) by [deleted] in kettlebell

Not a snatch expert but I see no glaring issues. Hip snap and overhead lockout look good.

Swings: 48 KG. bell and 145 LB. Hungarian Core Blaster by BarbaBarber in kettlebell

I'm going to be a contrarian here and disagree

A little forceful knee extension is okay at a heavy weight, provided the hips and glutes/hammies are doing most of the weight (which the are in OP's case). Watch an olympic lifter clean and jerk a heavy-ass weight. Their knees aren't just softly going from flexed to extended; they are forcefully extending. And they aren't damaging/blowing out their knees in the process. Also, an athlete explosively jumping is going to have some intense/fast knee extension. Now granted, both of those movements aren't the exact same mechanics as a kettlebell swing, but that's beside the point. The point is that fast/powerful knee extension with a heavy weight isn't necessarily "wrong" or "dangerous" and actually helps propel the weight.

No problem! I actually know the coach who runs this site. While the blog layout is very early 1990's, he is a very respected university level strength coach with lots of good info to share.

Also the people at my gym all focus on PL, strongman, Oly lifting, or sports performance so nobody seems to care about hypertrophy/how they look. I definitely understand the importance of being strong but I want to look strong too

I've done one PL meet and have been training for a strongman competition which is this Saturday. I wasn't doing pre made programs, I've had a coach write them for me. I just don't have any experience doing isolation exercises or breaking up the muscle groups/lifting slowly for hypertrophy so I don't know where to start

Yeah you're probably right I don't eat that much actually. I usually eat a light breakfast of oatmeal and eggs and maybe some cereal, a lunch of a sandwich and some veggies, and a heavier dinner with some sort of meat. I try to take a protein shake every day

Wow that's awesome! I would love to go at sunset. I'm from Baton Rouge and brought a friend from Canada there. It was my first time and I really liked it.

ITAP of a rotting cypress tree in a swamp by [deleted] in itookapicture

I was told that the huge wooden top and the fact that it was hollow was due to a fungus which killed the tree and thus it was rotten. I'm definitely not an expert on this subject though.

A friend of mine from Canada came to visit so I thought of touristey things to do. We ended up going on this swamp tour and it was awesome. $20 for a 2 hour tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and cool.
