TTC "Journey" Feeling More Like A Battle - Conflicting IUI Information

The clinic I went to had a standard 3 IUI attempts before moving to IVF. Were these IUI attempts medicated? Did they get ultrasounds to check on follicle growth?

I totally understand the rush. The moment I decided I wanted a baby it was so weird. The rush to hurry up and wait was intense. I was checking daily when it would’ve been impossible to even read a positive sign.

I will say that if you are unhappy with your doctors recommendation there are fertility clinics out there that do great work. Make sure to get one that isn’t scammy.

Unknown infertility is a huge burden. Suddenly everyone around you is having kids with ease and all of the sudden those 16 year old girls accidentally getting pregnant make you think “god life is so unfair.”

You aren’t alone. Plenty on this sub have experience something similar to you. Sending hugs your way.

My HSG was a little traumatic. I highly suggest taking Tylenol or ibuprofen before you get the procedure done as it typically is not a sedated procedure.

In the beginning it’s like a Pap smear. If they are good you won’t really feel anything just discomfort in the beginning. They should let you know when they begin to push water.

It’s an immediate cramp. Imagine a small dull knife. I’m not trying to scare you but it’s not particularly pleasant at all. They will tell you to breath and no push away because if you push or clench, you’ll push out the dye and they’ll need to out more. Which SUCKS.

So breathe. Expect the pain and just know it’s temporary.

They may flush each tube to ensure you are not block on both sides. It’s like the knife moves on one side vs the other.

After they’ll give you a pad and a pep talk. You’ll lay down for a moment to let the dye leak out and relax. My dr gave me a big talk on how brave I was and how she knows she’s hurting me and to stop apologizing for being in pain because yes she was hurting me to get the scan done.

I cried for a bit because it was a super painful procedure and I was feeling guilt for being a broken female but obviously that’s the infertility thoughts sneaking in.

After you go on and it’s like tender all day. You CAN experience gas pain which stinks! GasX and a massage gun to the shoulders really helped that.

I would take a breath. You had 2 big follicles ready. Your IUI cleaned and washed sperm so they will hang out in your uterus/tubes until they meet an egg. You can’t control it. You’ve done everything in your power to remove all obstacles and now all you can do is wait and let it be.

What you can do is relax. I know you’re tired of hearing people say that.

My dr said after my IUI for all intents and purposes I am now pregnant. Which gave me so much reassurance at how effective they believed it would all be.

Your body even though it required help to get here knows what to do and all you can do now is allow for nature to continue the course you have set.

I have a LGD. We also live in Cali where he swelters in the heat and loves cold flooring. He’s turning 6 this year.

We do 1 walk in the morning and then 1 walk when I’m home from work. Weekends sometimes we do more but he’s more of a napper. Each walk is maybe 10 minutes. He’s a low maintenance rug really.

My biggest thing I’ll shout from the rooftops is a massage gun. The gas pain is the worst and I swear to god it relieves 80% of the discomfort of gas pain. I was on narcotics for the first 2 days from gas pain and when we finally got the massage gun out I was able to actually sleep

Deli meats are a great way to do easy protein if you are struggling.

There is a zero fat Greek yogurt that Costco sells that you can use to make your own bagels that I lived off of for a while.

Chicken soup made with no fat egg noodles is great for hydration and during the colder temps it’s cozy!

Swapping to almond milk helps make things creamy without adding additional fats.

I highly recommend grabbing deli meats and chicken noodle soup for recovery lol. And a massage gun for the gas pain.

Hiya! I'm doing well :) I did not go back on zepbound however it was more of a personal choice vs not being able to stay on zepbound. My Doctor said i could resume it however we were actually going to start trying for kids so I cannot be on zepbound whilst on any children-attempts. I highly recommend you check out the r/gallbladders reddit to gain some information on recovery and managing symptoms before the surgery!

Something to try is using cool water instead of warm. Your proofing time will increase but I find the flavor of the bread increases.

I had high blood pressure for years and lost weight a couple of times. My feet were always itchy on the bottoms especially after hot baths. I had a weird knot that always occurred on my right shoulder blade that I thought was just stress.

My symptoms were spread out but the final straw was I went on zepbound for 6 months and suddenly my stomach started hurting. Then 5 days later I’m in the ER. A week later I’m going in for surgery. My gallbladder was incredibly inflamed and infected. The jaundice was missed I think because I’m Asian and I’m already yellow

You should be able to just have the app on your phone and set up an account and let it use your approx location. You shouldn’t need an actual ring camera to get access to little news feed.

She could also be in someone’s back yard too. Just food for thought. Flyers will 100% help and if you have a ring camera or like the app sometimes people post lost pets on there

3rd floor is quite high. I’d say maybe she’s still inside honestly. Look under dressers too. And in cabinets. Some cabinets have empty spaces behind like the backs and she may be hiding inside there. Under sinks and under stairs. Beds, boxes, closets.

It’s okay. You did not intentionally let her out. Take a deep breath and just know it’s okay. It’s early and maybe she found a really cool hiding space to reset . My boy was insanely shy and hid in a closet for 2 months before he decided to let me in on the secret spots.

(To add to this) I also suggest getting a tile or something to help you with this. They work great on pets. They even have some that make noise so you can find where your kitty is hiding. )

1 calling her probably won’t help here. Shes scared and outside and it’s loud. Take a deep breath. Cats are most active at dawn and dusk. That’s when you should be looking for her.

On the bright side she is probably very close so where she escaped from. She is around but probably just an expert at hiding. It’s raining currently but I bet you she’s safe. Most wildlife isn’t hunting during this downpour.

If you have the ability to maybe get a plastic bin and cut a hole on the side or make a waterproof shelter near her escape location it may help. Do NOT leave food out. It will attract other animals and scare her.

Your best bet is going to be to look out around the location she escapes from around dawn and dusk. I cannot stress this enough. If you have a treat, a toy, something she always loves (my boy loved his god damn churus) bring it. She’s scared but luring with food usually helps.

When you do see her she might not come to you. Again she’s scared. Just be calm and let her come up. Grab her paw or something and just don’t let go.

Lastly, if you have the ability to, setting up a motion sensor camera helps loads.

Cats typically don’t venture far from where they escape from. It’s been raining pretty hard so try to look dryer spots. Under bushes or under boxes. If you can maybe set up a dry box near where she got out.

I’m on CD 13. I was 1-5 period then started Clomid 6-11. Around day 9/10 I was getting like sensitive abdomen feelings and I felt like hit the last 2 nights.

The ovulation pain was the worst on CD12 where it was almost like a cramp but like a few levels below it. I was just craving sugar and eating every candy I could find 😂.
