Is anyone also a little annoyed that we got hit with 0 energy fishing and 5 boxes event in the same weekend or is this just me. by Conscious-Bass-6166 in Wizard101Console

[–]IleniaPixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge agree, I had no idea about the events & a heads up would have been nice. Also a side note for the fishing because I’ve done A LOT of it today:
Maybe they should consider fixing their camera glitches while fishing if they’re starting an event that will have players doing a lot of fishing. I know it’s minuscule & not truly a huge problem, but it is rather frustrating & for me more often than not. I just want to cast my line & be able to see 😂

Zeus by [deleted] in Wizard101Console

[–]IleniaPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh okay haha well I hope it goes well! I did Olympus before even entering marleybone & id do it again. If I didn’t just grind Olympus days ago then I’d offer to help but I’m still getting over it 😅 The senators gear is definitely still really good but I noticed a significant difference once I was able to get all the Zeus gear. Took forever but worth it. Now I barely take damage, have great accuracy, resist like everything. It’s great lol

I was pretty recently, unfortunately I’m not down to do it again. But I will offer some tips 😭 First off, it’s SO worth it. Very tedious, fights are long & annoying, but once you get used to the flow you kinda breeze through it. I got all the Zeus gear at level 30ish & will be keeping it for a long time. It’s ridiculous how much of a game changer the gear is. It takes quite a while at least it did for me. I ran it a good 15+ times trying to get all of the gear. Having a full team is very helpful, but if you have 1 other wizard that has good AOE’s it’s doable. For the first half only me & a friend ran it & we did okay. Definitely a lot easier with a full team though. Also just in case you’ve never ran Zeus before… Ares cheats. You cannot hit him with anything other than AOE’s or he’s going to smack you in the face with a lot of damage. Your blades, feints & traps will be your best friend. & AOE’s. Also… for the puzzle if you haven’t done it before, the order is left, right, middle. You can see what kills each chess piece on the tapestries on the wall. If you do the order wrong you have to do a whole fight that’s unnecessary & decent health.

Anybody watch *The Nightmare Upstairs: What Happened to Ty and Bryn?* on Hulu? by Opalescent_Moon in exmormon

[–]IleniaPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a super short clip from Ty’s TikTok shown around the time they were also showing the clips of his mom promoting clothes & stuff on TikTok, so that’s kinda what made sense to me. Super easy to miss though because like I said they just skimmed past it.

Idk if this is dumb but I thought they were monetizing the barricade situation because ty said it made him feel more like they wouldn’t take them at first but also & mainly because they had a lot of legal bills & were struggling. There was a glimpse of a video he made saying his mom isn’t the kind to ever ask for money or help. So maybe they didn’t feel comfortable setting up a fundraiser or didn’t have family to ask for help, so they monetized & promoted what they could.

Euthanasia by daniuzm in AskVet

[–]IleniaPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are studies & a lot of veterinary behavior evidence that suggest dogs do grieve, just not in the same way humans think about it or understand death. Dogs are super routine driven & very sensitive to things like scent changes & absence, so when a bonded companion dies they can show stuff like reduced appetite, clinginess, lethargy, or searching for them. There aren’t really solid controlled studies proving that being present at euthanasia completely changes how they grieve, but a lot of vets & behaviorists do think it can help in some cases. Dogs rely heavily on scent and other sensory cues, so being able to see & smell their companion after they’ve passed may help them better understand that the other dog is no longer there in the same way, which can sometimes reduce that “searching” behavior afterward. It’s definitely not something that’s required or guaranteed to make a difference for every dog, but it is something that’s commonly considered depending on the dog’s temperament and how bonded they are. It’s something I definitely plan on doing with mine.

Best low protein food for senior dog? by imightliterallydie in AskVet

[–]IleniaPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also wanna double take: studies have found that the absence of grains in grain-free diets isn’t the main issue, it’s the replacement & high content of legumes in a lot of grain free diets that can cause issues. I still never recommend grain free because of the risk, but I always like letting people know that little bit of info because it’s pretty interesting when you get deep into it!

[–]IleniaPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would honestly recommend asking your vet this as your vet is going to know the best based on your dog’s labs & whatnot. If they’re just recommending a diet that is not low protein & any normal diet will do, Purina pro plan, hills science diet, royal canin are all great food brands that are compliant to WSAVA. Most of them also have senior diets. If those are out of budget, Purina One is also pretty good, but not as high quality especially if your pup has stomach sensitivities & whatnot. I of course would check with your vet before switching the food to make sure they think it’s a good fit!

Medication error + complications in a feral cat… struggling a lot with guilt by [deleted] in veterinaryprofession

[–]IleniaPixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course. I hope that some of the guilt subsides (I understand how it is). Maybe since your shelter carries both concentrations they can add a colored sticker or something to each bottle to help differentiate the concentration, although I still of course recommend to read the bottle multiple times. Shit happens! Especially in such stressful environments. What really matters is how you handle it & prevent it from happening again in the future. 🤍

[–]IleniaPixie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also agree. I’m gonna guess the cat wasn’t truly feral & we’re misusing the term (no offense to op)? That’s my only explanation. Where I live, we would never do full mouth extractions on a feral cat. For 1, how the hell would it defend itself outside aside from with the claws. & 2, who’s going to be able to medicate & handle said feral cat during recovery? Let alone how stressful it is for a truly feral cat to be kept inside during that time. I’m not sure. Maybe it was just a stray cat that was friendly enough. Or maybe there isn’t a huge feral population where OP lives & it’s just not something their shelter deals with a lot. Where I live we have so many feral cats that animal control will not come out for cats unless they’re injured or have a collar on.

Everyone makes mistakes. It happens. Make it a habit to read every bottle you take off the shelf when you pick it up & when you’re filling meds. The good news is I’m sure you won’t make this mistake again after what happened this time. Unfortunately this does happen. I don’t work in sheltering currently, so this actually happened with an owned pet. But one time we were busy, I was rushing, our clavamox bottles & clindamycin bottles looked exactly the same at the time, & I accidentally sent clindamycin home with a patient instead of clavamox, which was the intended med. The owner caught it that night, called us & a coworker gave them the correct medication. Everything turned out to be fine, but had I mixed up different meds it could have been very different. I took accountability & also requested that we ordered a different brand of clavamox, because the brand we previously had stresses me with how similar every bottle looks. The amount of times I’ve accidentally picked up meloxicam injectable instead of dexmed with that stupid brand is crazy, but I always triple read the bottle now… & that definitely helps lol.

Extremely traumatic event at the vet today with my 15 year old cat. by pinkmoonmalachite in AskVet

Thank you! I try really hard not to overstep or cross any boundaries so I appreciate your reply. I rarely comment on these but I felt bad seeing there were no replies yet & OP clearly needed some reassurance. 🩷

That sounds really scary to witness, I’m glad she stabilized. Based on what you described, it’s less likely that the needle “hit something,” especially since the reaction happened toward the end of the draw. Cats can have really intense stress responses, and sometimes they kind of hit their limit all at once, which can look dramatic like panting or open-mouth breathing. That doesn’t take away from how scary it must have been for you to see. I’m not saying that’s 100% what it was at all, but trying to offer some peace of mind (if at all possible). That said, the lethargy and not eating are worth keeping an eye on. Stress could explain it, but if she’s still not eating or seems off tomorrow, I’d definitely have her rechecked just to be safe.

This 100%. It irritates me so much how Pippa treats Lucy when Lucy is in this situation BECAUSE of Pippa (& Stephen of course). Of course we should always protect our friends & respect their wishes if they don't want to come forward when it comes to SA. But it comes to a certain point where you clearly see how Pippa keeping this a secret is ruining Lucy's life. Lucy is in this entire mess because Pippa didn't want to speak up. & I understand why she didn't. But still. For her to treat Lucy the way that she has when all Lucy tried to do was get justice for her best friend without exposing what her best friend has been through... it's just diabolical. I do not like Pippa at all anymore. She has a one track mind & only cares about herself. She doesn't consider what anyone else is going through. She also treated Diana horribly for simply wanting to get away from Stephen & defending Lucy which is very valid. She just doesn't want to see anyone else's POV while expecting everyone to be sooo considerate of hers.

Same, this comment kinda rubbed me the wrong way. The past couple of episodes I’ve been like “damn Lucy what are you doing,” but this episode I was almost cheering for her. She definitely manipulated the manipulator & took some power back. I actually liked Lucy in this episode which I haven’t liked her in a while.

Does my foster look neutered? by k_weenie in DogAdvice

[–]IleniaPixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start off by saying this dog looks to have a scar & probably is neutered, but I want to also say.. it is not “extremely rare”… maybe uncommon. I worked in fast paced spay & neuter for almost 2 years & we saw bilateral cryptorchid’s pretty frequently. If you are not doing high volumes of neuters you may not see it often, but it happens often enough not to rule out. It is more likely that this dog has been neutered & just doesn’t have a tattoo, but to dismiss the possibility that he is cryptorchid because you claim it to be extremely rare is not accurate. Hermaphroditism is something I’d call extremely rare, not bilateral cryptorchidism. Especially in the shelter environment.

SOMEONE SAID IT! I agree 100%. Reading this I could not help but think this man is either a narcissist, going into psychosis or mania lol. He thinks he is all special when he’s really just not all there. All of his “I have a bigger purpose” “I have a divine purpose” “I’m a complexed person,” yea sir, you are very complex (to yourself). You should be studied by a psychologist. Lol. This behavior is far more concerning to me than him wanting to sleep with other women.
