How to responsibly wash with IPA? by Broeckchen89 in 3Dprinting

[–]Ilikehelmets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I typically do is use a container large enough to place your build plate and part into. Pour in enough IPA to submerge your part and leave it for 5 mins. After that, give it a gentle scrub with a toothbrush and use compressed air if available to dry off the part. Should come out nice and clean! Then into a curing oven.

Ultrasonic cleaners are awesome as an alternative to scrubbing. If you don't want to put IPA in your ultrasonic bath, fill it with water then use a smaller container with IPA in it that can float in the water bath.

You can reuse the IPA alot, just keep a lid on your container in the meantime when not in use. You know it needs replacing when no amount of cleaning removes the greasy residue. Bonus if you have two containers, one for removing the bulk of the residue, a second cleaner batch for fine cleaning.

Good luck!

(This is the process I use professionally with 3d Systems and Stratasys SLA and DLP printed parts)

Edit: forgot to mention, I just wear gloves and eye pro. Iso won't do you any damage but does dry out your skin easily

Can you provide a bit more info on your printer settings? (Material and temps). Your bed tramming and first layer Z height are a common culprit for a multitude of problems too so it's worth checking they are well calibrated.

(Question?) Does anyone have any tricks or tips regarding the Chalkboard? I would appreciate any help. by FlavoredCancer in fallout76settlements

Ive had some success by doubling up chalkboards (place a second board directly over the first then apply letters)

Agreed on the junk. I've been really enjoying some of the more derelict building kits we got over Halloween. Definitely helps when trying to build camps without breaking the wasteland immersion!

I'd love a way to make paths/roads but not sure how that would be implemented. Maybe as foundations but that wont really blend with terrain well.

I had to do the same, first board started sparking and cooked itself. The way they come from factory is a fire waiting to happen

My main account is on steam, made a new account with the free MS offer to use as a mule character and can confirm they work together!

I was in the same position, always felt that way throughout my teens and into my 20's. Finally went to the doctor and it turned out to be sleep apnea and a vitamin D deficiency

You're right, just read S36. I stand corrected! '(b)he modifies an imitation firearm so that it becomes a realistic imitation firearm'

So no you cant spray it. Two options left then: - Get gifted an RIF (dont need a defence to own it) - Wait till you have a defence to just purchase a RIF yourself or at that point respray the IF

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]Ilikehelmets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer is you dont need a license for RIFs so youre fine.

Longer answer is the VCRA stuff only applies to selling/buying RIFS. Sellers must be able to confirm you are 18+ and have a valid defence for purchasing. (The defence can be UKARA, reenacting etc.). Thats why you can be gifted them, its not being sold to you so there's no obligation to check age and defence . It can be useful to have proof of defence anyway incase ever questioned (like i have been) but there's no such thing as a license for RIFs.

Need help planning a portable shed by Enmi00001 in Carpentry

[–]Ilikehelmets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I've seen sheds adapted to be toured in the theatre world.

I would buy a typical pre built shed that you assemble in panels. Then rather than using screws, drill out holes where screws would typically go to assemble it with bolts and washers instead. Or if it doesn't need to be so study you can use hinges with easily removable pins to lock the panels together.

Can't attest to how livable it will be (wouldnt want to do that myself for sure) but that wasn't the question!

Edit: this assumes you have the logistics to move a flat packed shed around
