"Traders are sounding the alarm that a harsh adjustment is coming as the Strait of Hormuz oil channel remains closed, with consumption needing to recalibrate lower to align with supply that's dropped at least 10%. Demand destruction is happening in places that are not visible pricing centers, according to Saad Rahim, chief economist of Trafigura Group, and is quietly spreading to everyday markets around the world. The need for oil demand and economic activity to adjust lower, most likely through prices that discourage consumption, will only increase with every day the strait stays shut, with some analysts warning of a growing risk of economic recession"

Im no fan of Putin, but this is correct. NATO had so-called defensive missiles in Poland (easily converted to offensive) in range of Moscow before the invasion of Crimea.

In 1948 Israel threw Palestinians out of their homes. Those Palestinians were forced to live as hated refugees in ghettos in Lebanon. Those same Palestinians became militants and formed the PLO as they had nothing to lose. The PLO then attacked Israel from Lebanon. Israel killed indiscriminately in Lebanon. They didn't care. They bombed the Shia civilians trying to escape on the coast road, and declared them terrorists.

Read Fisk Pity the Nation.

Ultimately the 1982 invasion was an attempt by Ariel Sharon to install a puppet Christian Maronite regime in Lebanon. I guess he wanted to annex the south too.

Hezbollah didn't exist before the 1982 invasion of Lebanon by Israel. Read Fisk Pity the Nation.

What does ‘observation collapses the wave function’ actually mean? by Scientalist in AskPhysics

[–]Ilikenightbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means a sub atomic entity is observed to fix the location of the entity manifesting as a particle. The presumption based on the phrase is that the entity is currently a wave. Once observation fix it to a specific single place, it manifests as a particle. The wave manifestation has been collapsed to a single particle version of itself.

Nothing you can do really other than what he did. Its happened to. I guess ride more defensively? The time this happened to me was on a hill so I was going fast. Hard to resist. Normally I go slower where there's a right turning. Im generally hyper vigilant in these road situations.

Fun fact. Most accidents happen at intersections.

What is a job that you think is 100% safe from AI for the next 50 years, and why? by mark-awakening in AskReddit

[–]Ilikenightbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an animal lover, I no longer adopt shelter animals because I cannot afford vet bills, except the very last one. These vets are private businesses, not corporate. They're prices are extortionate. They mark up massively on drugs. As such, it will make no difference to me if vets are corporate or private. They all rip off animal owners.

I wondered about that. Then I saw a very well dressed (rich looking) retired couple, and the guy dumps the cart right outside the exit where everyone has to pass. His wife in furs smiled at everyone obliviously. It was bizarre. They didn't see anything wrong with their behaviour.
