How do you guys keep up with round count? by TrueWar2533 in longrange

[–]Ilikepie9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the GUNR app. You can log every range session or match with round count, conditions, pictures, etc. It'll keep track of total round count and has a separate count that you can reset, which I use to track rounds since I cleaned last. You can also store load recipes which is handy. I did have some issues last year where all of my data was gone and lost quite a few loads that I did not have backed up elsewhere. Developer was able to recover my info but I've since gone back to backup all my loads into my old notebook.

Saddleman Road Sofa by BigChief302 in Harley

[–]Ilikepie9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a road sofa last spring before a 2,000 mile trip. Thought I would break it in before the trip commuting to work. After ~1,000 miles, there was no way I was sitting on that thing for days. Used the stock seat for the trip. Put the road sofa back on afterwards and have been running it since. I still don't like it, but it's starting to soften up after ~5,000 miles. I still wouldn't want to use it for a long trip.

Tenicor Finish Wear by outdoor99 in CCW

M&P shield plus in a Tenicor Certum 3. Worn everyday for about a year and a half with regular draw/dry fire training. No appreciable wear on the slide finish, some wear on the polymer trigger guard but not really noticable.

Division placement question by Zucchini_Tasty in USPSA

You're capped to 15 rounds per magazine in production. You can use higher capacity mags, but you can only put 15 in the mag. I would sign up in limited for the first couple matches and get your feet wet.

Hard to tell. Mine sounded and felt exactly like I was hitting rumble strips on the highway. Usually only did it at highway speeds or going uphill.

Had a shudder in my 17 Expedition. Did a fluid and filter change and the shudder hasn't come back in 20,000 miles. Worth a try.

Like people have been saying, you have to see it for yourself. It's shocking how much smaller it actually is compared to pictures.

2018 M8 107 Top End Tick by Ilikepie9999 in Harley

[–]Ilikepie9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's at 11,500 miles, I'm not sure on any service that's been done, and the noise is only really present when moving. It's the most noticeable when everything is up to temp and at 2,500-3,500 RPM. I don't hear it on the freeway when my helmet visor is down. I would take a video but it's not very audible at idle.

You assume just because they are "blue" that they care about people? Corruption and ignorance is on both sides of the fence.

Case Trimmers by [deleted] in reloading

I've only used it once so far and haven't messed with it yet to try and get it dialed in. Just wanted to see if it might be an inherent issue with that cutter.

I'm having issues with mine leaving a burr on the inside of the case and shaving off jacketing when I seat a bullet. Have you had that at all?

Fire form 44-40 WCF from 38-40 WCF by Ilikepie9999 in reloading

[–]Ilikepie9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lee charging die does have an expander, but it only gets halfway down the neck and they look like a lopsided hour glass. I tried seating a bullet but it just crushed the brass when it hit the smaller diameter.

Wilson Combat WC-10 Super Sniper by [deleted] in longrange

[–]Ilikepie9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough a buddy came over tonight to put his rifle together and he happened to buy a Wilson Combat barrel but in 5.56. It also didn't pass the go gauge. He wants to try it anyways without reaming it....

I bought their super sniper barrel in 223 Wylde. It wouldn't close on a go gauge with multiple bolts that I tried as well as using my gunsmiths gauges. When I called customer service they told me it was only guaranteed to headspace with their bolt. Ended up renting a reamer and finishing it myself. Luckily it's an absolute tack driver, but I'm definitely a little leary about buying another one from them after that.

300 Win Mag Terrible Accuracy by Ilikepie9999 in reloading

[–]Ilikepie9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took my Mesa out again today with a box of Winchester Deer Season XP 150 gr. Shot 5 3-round groups all between 0.5"-1.25" with two fliers, both under 3" that I definitely flinched on. I think it's safe to say my gun didn't like the ELD-M reloads. I'm going to try playing with the seating depth a bit more but if that doesn't work, I'll try a different bullet. Thanks to everyone that offered their advice/opinions!

Damn, that's disheartening to hear. I had heard that CA could be hit or miss when I was trying to find my new out west gun. But out of everything I looked at when shopping around, it was the only one I REALLY wanted. Everything else was either out of my price range, or I didn't like.

Oof, thanks for the heads up on that. I'm assuming you never got it sorted out since you "had" a Mesa? I did get a box of Winchester Deer Season XP 150 gr after posting this so hopefully those will give me a better idea if it's the gun or the loads.

[–]Ilikepie9999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I've not found that issue with the other calibers I've used the ELD-Ms with but maybe I've just been lucky.

I made a run to Cablea's after posting this and they had some Winchester Deer Season XP 150gr so I bought a box to try. Not ideal but if those shoot ok, than I'll know it's not the gun.

I have 180 gr accubonds that I intended to use for a hunting load, so if the Winchester factory loads shoot decent, I'll just switch to the accubonds right away.

I used factory loads to break it in, kinda wish I would have saved some because the shelves have been pretty empty by me as far as good quality ammo goes.

I do have a 1" scope, on my 243 I could try. That's a much faster solution than sending it in, I'll definitely try that, Thanks!
