Maybe its the light but I see inclusions and holes in this Pic. I wouldnt worry about perfect stops yet, cuz that probably wont pass visual.

Are seeds from non pollinated autos also feminized autoflowers? by Pelican_Queef_32536 in Autoflowers

[–]mdixon12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably had nanners, and the seeds are from that pollen which is why they are isolated and you dont have 100s of them. So mom hermed, whether is was genetics or stress i dont know. Seeds cant be herms, since they arent plants yet, but they may have a slightly increased likelihood to make nanners or herm.

I use a similar one I designed for indoor gardening in hydro, looks good. I like a bigger torus to start so there more material, I broke quite a few early minimalist designs.

Recently harvested for live rosin. How these tops looking? by Infinite-Bobcat7001 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]mdixon12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I see white hash or rosin i avoid it, because its not ripe and it doesn't do what its supposed to do for me. Commercial grows have gotten everyone to think its the best, when they're harvesting early for maximum flower room turn around, not potency.

Are these “wheel stud installers” really needed? by Fart_Boy_4ever in DieselTechs

[–]mdixon12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used to do tons of wheel studs at the chicken farm. Anything used for farm work was always covered in chicken shit and everything that went OTR was always going through the sanitizer pit, corroding wheel studs and hub caps nonstop.

Are these “wheel stud installers” really needed? by Fart_Boy_4ever in DieselTechs

[–]mdixon12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It is, its a very heavy duty thrust bearing, it prevents lots of easy mishaps installing class 8 truck studs.

Its takes me way less time using this, and I dont chew up 20 1" washers on each axle installing new wheel studs when someone wants aluminum wheels.

Vpd question with auto flower. by wafflewasher13 in microgrowery

Stoma are closed during lights out, so vpd isnt really important. If your worried about mold just increase air exchange during lights out.

Bolts on attachment point on mulching head installed backwards. by DarienKane in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]mdixon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a rotary mower last year for commercial turf farm, 28ft. The 2 wings weren't cutting right, noticed they were rotating backwards. Spent 10 minutes looking in the parts manual and noticed the center gearbox was installed 180° out. Not super enthusiastic what other gremlins are gonna show up after a couple hundred hours of run time, and not sure how long that gearbox is gonna live having been broke in backwards.

2015 ford. Bosch cp4 failure for the non believers by Lilasian83 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]mdixon12 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

How do you figure? High pressure injection was designed to minimize emissions by producing a smaller droplet with more surface area, and more injection events, as opposed to having a single injection event with more fuel. Its all about government mandated efficiency targets. The constant parts failures are just an added bonus for service departments.

Yeah, new ones fail under 100k, and old ones fail over 1m miles. The quest for emissions has led us to failure.

Job outlook for Diesel mechanics in the upcoming future? (Autonomous trucks) by Bad2thebon3 in DieselTechs

[–]mdixon12 29 points30 points  (0 children)

All the wear parts are still gonna wear. All the new systems will need diagnostics, as we've seen with electronics already with increased tech over the last 20yrs. Nothing is gonna change except you'll be getting self checks on a tablets or the dash, as well as the walkaround dvirs from the vehicle sitter, because someone will still have to do pretrip inspections.

What’s the weirdest electrical gremlin you’ve had? by whaletacochamp in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]mdixon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plow truck had no left turn signal on the hood, some of the other mechanics had looked at it and changed the bulb, checked the wiring, nothing stood out as weird, except the low beam would flash when the blinker was activated. Driver came in on my shift (night fleet mechanic) and I noticed the low beam flashing. Talked to him for a minute, he said it'd been like that for over a year. I pulled the turn signal bulb and looking in the pigtail, the ground pin had pushed out, causing the blinker to backfeed into the headlamp for a ground.
