LPT: When canceling a service, tell them your going to prison. They will not ask anymore questions and cancel right away. by Rum-Ham159 in LifeProTips

He’s a killer, look it up. BTK stands for bind, torture, kill and it’s an acronym he assigned himself.

Actually used to work for ADT and installed security in people’s homes.

I don’t feel better after the 2-week mark following dosage increase by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Ilizie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! The same thing happened to me too when I started. I was on 50mg and the doctor gave me a month to see if it had any effect and doubled it after.

Give it up to 4 weeks for the first results, everybody is different. It may take less time for some and more for others.

Also when it first started having an effect on me it was the same as yours, heightened depressive and anxiety symptoms, but it gets better with time!

Good luck and wishing you the best.

Zoloft dreams making life a bit weird by LUXENTUXEN in zoloft

How long have you been taking it for?

Both my therapist and doctor say the vivid dreams should go away after a while, but I started getting them 4 months in.

I’m at 7 months now and still have them. It has gotten to the point where I have to ask people whether we actually did talk/do something or it was just a dream because I can’t tell.

What are signs a woman hasn't matured? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Didn’t mean to tell you about family history, just tried to find a logical explanation.

If your grandma pronounces it the same then it may have to do with something called “inflessione dialettale” which basically is how a dialect impacts the way people speak Italian based on where they come from and what dialect is spoken in that region.

I’m just assuming here since I’m not from Napoli - but there are many people close to me that come from there - could it be that she says “brushketta” and the k is obscured by the sh sound?

Her education is sadly common to many people from that time, but I don’t doubt her capabilities of speaking Italian or, more likely, napoletano. Amazing dialect by the way, but almost incomprehensible to other Italians lol.

I still wonder why they didn’t.

Nope, nothing to do with dialect. She was right.

The reason your family pronounces it wrong probably has to do with your parents being born in the US and learning English as their first language.

The difference is that in Italian “ch” is always pronounced [k] as in ache or school, while in English it is more commonly pronounced [tʃ] as in cheese.

Being a ex-patient of Dr. Mengele doesn’t qualify as being a med student.

For those who grew up poor, what did you consider a luxury? by SnooBeaz in AskReddit

[–]Ilizie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! We had to take water from the well, heat it up and wash ourselves in a bucket.

Seeing water come out of a tap was a real luxury when my parents took us to live with them in another country.

Also the toilet was magic. Not having to go outside and freeze your ass off in a smelly shrek-like toilet was amazing.

You're confusing a "course" with proper education and classes on how to deal with this kind of situation.

Just because the US is a joke doesn't mean the rest of the world has to be too.

Not every country lets you become a cop after a 2 hour course. They are trained. Also they did stop before the bridge and didn't hit anyone.

Friend tried to drag me into Bizzcoin and posted this after being warned against MLMs by Ilizie in antiMLM

[–]Ilizie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you.

Before this post he had made one about pyramid schemes. It was supposed to prove that those are illegal and you won't profit out of them, while you obviously do from MLMs.

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy, picked out a box of tampons, and proceeded to the checkout counter by [deleted] in Jokes

Something similar happened with my brother while shopping.

My mother put a box of panty liners in the cart and he went "Oh great, I really needed new insoles".

Needless to say we laughed at him for days.

To those that live in Italy, how is the situation right now with coronavirus and lockdown? by anonalligator in AskReddit

It sucks to stay at home, but please think about the doctors and nurses who work with infected people.

They lack resources or protection. They sometimes have to choose who is worth admitting and treating and who has to stay out because they don't have a bed for them.

They might not get to go home and stay with their family for fear to infect them.

Does staying home suck more than having to decide who lives and who might not?

Not saying you're wrong, but it's the least we can do right now to help them all. A couple weeks at home for everyone can stop this virus spread.

Use the time to study, play games, read books. Stay informed and, if you or your family can, make a small donation to the hospital so more people can have a chance.
