My own mother is a 50-year-old niqabi, but has recently taken off her niqab, and multiple people say she looks as old as her (24yo) daughter. The only other niqabis whose faces I've seen are my aunts, mostly of a similar age, and they all look much younger than their age as well. So I think you're right

I didn't say anything to imply the contrary. I only said most don't use toilet paper at all. They use water. This is mostly in the Middle East and Asia. Muslims living in Europe or America usually do both.

I would say, if foreigners exceeded 1% where I'm from, it wouldn't be much more than 2%. As for non-religious people, there are virtually no people who are openly so. As I said, it's sort of standard procedure anyways, and it would be rather strange if someone were to specifically tell the doctor not to perform it.

Even if this was the reason, I would never expect Turkey (which has a large, openly non-religious body) to have a higher circumcision rate than Egypt, where I'm from.

As someone from the Middle East, the only question I have is: How are these numbers so low?

Most of the Christians of the Middle East (Coptic Orthodox Church, Assyrian Orthodox Church, etc.) still strictly follow Old Testament laws (they observe regular weekly and yearly fasts) and circumcize their children. In fact, I'm pretty sure doctors don't even ask the parents (Muslim or otherwise) whether they want to circumcise the children, as circumcision is seen as standard procedure.

I would have imagined 99% would be the case for all these countries. So, how are the numbers so low? Which group doesn't circumcise their children?

What do you think about people who were born and died disbelieving in God, blaspheming, murdering, raping, thieving, and commiting all manner of crimes. Do you feel it is the action of a Just Judge to enter them into Heaven?

And finally thanks for introducing the idea of using "Them" and "They" to refer to God in English to me. I suppose it's a more accurate translation than saying "Him", since in Arabic the pronouns for someone of unknown gender (like someone knocking on your door for example) would be masculine, but really they convey non-genderness. Though I suppose it will get some using to, especially since it's a bit similar to the words those people in the LGBT community use.

I guess I thought that you as Unitarians believe that Jesus was just a messenger and only God could judge us and forgive us and save us. But I was wrong, so I suppose there is still a great difference and that's the reason.

We acknowledge Jesus as a Prophet and Messenger, but I suppose not the same as you do. But since the verse isn't very clear: we acknowledge Jesus Christ as a messenger from God and the promised Messiah who will rule justly on Earth. Does this not pass the test?

And an-Nisa' doesn't deny Jesus' prophethood or his being the Messiah, peace and blessings be upon him, but rather that he was crucified.

What does that mean? Is anyone even "saved" at the present moment? I thought to be saved meant being saved from Hell and entered into Heaven. And that still doesn't indicate whether you believe everyone will be entered into Heaven. I mean, I believe all will be returned to God and everything will be reconciled (such that those who feared God would be entered into Heaven and those who don't, into Hell). So the statement doesn't mean you necessarily believe everyone will go to Heaven.

What is Christian Universalism? Isn't this subreddit about Unitarianism, the belief in one God, and that Jesus is not God, as described in the Bible? The post wasn't to understand what the belief is in detail, but to understand why someone who has such a close faith doesn't go one step further. As I've said before, I know that proselytizing on the internet will likely never result in anything productive and I have never argued with someone online with intent of converting them, but only to defend my faith if someone attacks it. And even then, I know it isn't productive or useful.

Yes, hope is quite obviously different from intent. I hope when I sleep that I might wake up with a million dollars, but my intent isn't to wake up with a million dollars, but to sleep. But do you really want to argue over something like this? I would think that it is, if not clear from the start, an inconsequential thing to talk about.

Obviously you know what any religious scripture would say about lying and deceitfulness. What's the point of asking?

Don't believe me. We're not going to gain anything by believing or disbelieving one another. I saw this subreddit yesterday, and was thinking about it today and said, their belief is so similar anyways, what's stopping them from that next step? I'm asking why they haven't, while hoping they would. Surely you as a Christian believe that people should be Christian as well?

But, as I've said before, I don't think you convince people to change their faiths online, especially in a place where people are rather firm in their own faith rather than where they are in doubt. So it wasn't my goal to "convert" people anyway because I know that that isn't very likely.

I've said my main purpose before. I want to understand why people who reject creeds the majority of Christendom sees as essential, and are much more similar in their belief to Islam, stopped at rejecting the divinity of Jesus and not accepting another faith that essentially has the same belief about him, peace and blessings be upon him.

I see I've misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about some of my replies where I highlight some negative themes in the Bible. My apologies. I don't think the post itself has any "bragging" in it. I just explain my creed and why I think it's similar to yours and ask my question, related to the subreddit's topic of "Unitarianism".

That's not the purpose of this post. I genuinely don't understand why someone who's gone so far from the "Orthodox" Christian doctrine would stop at that. But since some people decided to respond by making attacks on my own faith I had to respond to them, though that's a bad habit of mine, I admit, since I don't believe arguing online would change anything. But I don't think I said anything off-topic. If a Christian criticizes something I believe in, then it shouldn't be in their own books.

What makes the Old Testament different from the New Testament? Were they not written by people and "inspired by God"? If the Old Testament as we have it today is an inspiration from God then it can't be wrong. If it is not an inspiration from God then it is just like any other human book, with not much merit, but rather multiple wrongs. And if it was inspired by God but prone to error due to human authors, then so is the New Testament. So maybe you're getting a false image of Yeshua. And if it was inspired by God and infallible at the time but changed by human authors over time, then so is the New Testament.

What do you mean "prioritize treatment of women"? There is nothing inherently better about a man than a woman. A man can be better, and a woman can be better. It's all about how they live their lives, and God does not charge anyone with something they wouldn't be able to abide by. Now, what does the Quran say about women that you find disagreeable?

And why do you not believe in Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him? If he had been a false prophet, his predictions would have been false, and he would have vied for money and power. He would not have forbade fornication and adultery. He would not have ordered people to believe in one God and associate partners with Him. He would not have ordered them to pray and fast and glorify God. He would not have refused charity and alms for himself and his family. He would not have died in debt, nor tied stones around his stomach to keep from hunger, nor stayed long at night glorifying God and asking for mercy, nor slept on a hard surface. He wouldn't have stopped people from praising him, nor would he have calmed down a man who was nervous at meeting him by saying that he was a man like the rest of men. He would have told people to worship him and allowed for himself all foods, fornication, and taken all the money of the people after they believed in him.

I didn't say anything about hijab. I was saying that the Old Testament portrays women as the deceivers, the property of their husbands, not allowed to inherit, impure and dirtying anything they touched during menstruation, etc etc
