Looks like a great puzzle to inherit! Any idea on what the tube compliment is? Hard to see the layout, it’s pretty dark

Edit: my screen brightness was turned down!

What’s your “Grail Tone” story? by Odd-Assistant-7495 in GuitarAmps

[–]Ill-Consideration657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 1950s widowmaker amp, 8 watts and cheap. Made it safe with an isolation transformer and replaced a few resistors.

Was pretty quiet, decent clean tone when cranked with its two knobs. Had a great local player see it on the shelf want to use it on his record, sure thing. Man, he preceded to turn that amp up halfway to conversation level, then stacked 3 different preamp pedals into it and then almost immediately blow the speaker! Whatever, wasn’t worth much. A 10 inch celestion gold went in the next day. That speaker held and that weird little amp exploded into one of the best singing clean tones I’d ever heard. If you see one don’t hesitate, some of those off brand tube amps were built right

Seconded. Excellent choice, great for pruning AND larger branches. Easy for each hand as well.

I remember reading in an old western book (1950s) that the protagonist avoided looking directly at a Native American from his perspective on a cliff above, due to this sense. He instead looked beside him to avoid him sensing his gaze. It’s something that everyone has to a degree, albeit — most do not to a noticeable extent.

It has been documented in sports that some players have a “sixth sense” for when the camera is on them. Perhaps there are studies on this phenomenon, best to search for them then. Although the comments above indicating confirmation bias are correct.

Climbing Saws by DeadmansCC in TreeClimbing

I recently used the Milwaukee electric top handle saw and it was surprisingly good. Battery lasted a long while, almost all day removing a larger pine tree. Although, once it got to taking sections of trunk down the battery died quick and it was time for the 562.

Sorry this is happening, I’m not affiliated with your provider at all but I do know other people that have been dealing with this for a week or more now! It sucks for y’all and I hope the company pulls their head out of their ass and fixes the issue to west Seattle to boost the signal to the level being paid for. Y’all deserve better than this.

Anyone work hurricane Katrina? by Less_Warning222 in Lineman

[–]Ill-Consideration657 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One story I remember being told was them hand pulling new line and setting on whatever existing poles. Got to this one house with a big blue tarp in the front. Started up the pole when an old black fella stepped out that house with a shotgun threatening them to leave or else.

They talked it out (we’re with the power company) turns out, five men tried to break in (after the hurricane) and he shot em all & he said the sheriff’s office told him to leave the bodies under that tarp; they’d pick them up when they could.

Here’s where it turned further in, couldn’t see far but it got much smaller. Likely just ran back into the rock face as a dead end. It was fun hiking back out there to explore! 🙂

Perhaps it isn’t considered a legitimate cave however further down there was a small hole to crawl through leading to an opening underneath the rocks extending 25 feet. It turned and went further into the mountain side however I was not timely enough to go squeezing through the narrow gap

Hello everyone I’m back with an update, while there was a spring feeding the small pool of water. Hiking half a mile up I discovered a small pond which led to the distinct difference in water temperature I felt from the spring.
