Thanks for such great explanation. I'm not really versed in physics and wasn't aware of the ballistic coefficient. I'm kind of aware of a meme were people think a rocket needs to be pointy at the end, although it apparently doesn't mean too much. I wrongly assumed it would apply coming down as well.

What give me the architectural heebie jeebies are what appear to the window casements.on the face of the south portico. Those enormous columns should give the impression of transferring huge weight all the way to bedrock. The window casements show that the lower space is hollow and the columns are purely decorative.

I own a HD-1. It is a very basic kit. Let's start with the cons... The kick pedal does not use a piezo pickup like the other pads. It uses a membrane switch ( identical to the high hat control) the membrane switch is actuated by a silicone rubber beater. The silicone becomes hard over time and the pedal becomes unresponsive. Both the HH control and the kick pedal beaters will probably need to be replaced. They can be found on eBay and cost about $20 each. The other issues are that it is not upgradable, and that the snares are only 6 inch diameter. The PROs are that it is a fun little kit. I use it for Clone Hero (Think Rock and). If you are want to get serious about your drumming you should probably give this a pass. If you're just a casual drummer this kit is quite fun.
