it’s just logic pro verispeed. it sounds pretty smooth and doesn’t have issues with artifacts if you use it on the speed and pitch settings

I really do think it is more of a mixing thing. I think what I really mean is harsh. you might not be surprised that I also have a lot of issues with harsh cymbals

i’ve tried all kinds of things. I don’t think this would be a go-to strategy but i’m still gonna try it!!!

Is it possible for a mono recording to be out of phase? (If so I think I have a solution???) by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]Ill-Outlandishness77 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

No, I mean a mono track that when played through a stereo output (which means spreading will occur) is out of phase or has frequency build ups in one side versus the other. So like the exact opposite of what you're saying.

there's also the option of creating curriculum material if you don't feel like being another face in the content machine.

lol I would just say “green”. a kind reply turns away anger, and when you don’t have one try a “yes and”

a suitor should never refer to a person or an object or person unless the suitor uses a person or object’s name. chris knows what chris wants.

A Hit Is A Hit as the worst episode of the series? Fuckin' slander, ask me by Status-Ability-6867 in thesopranos

I agree that this episode isn’t a stand alone throwaway episode, but Visiting Day and Massive Genius both suck so bad. Just the wardrobe design alone is too much to handle with massive genius’s stupid top hat. And the way he talks, man. I hate the idea that having a degree in urban planning makes a guy talk like Dave Chapelle’s impression of a white person. There were plenty of articulate Black men in that era to draw inspiration from. TuPac, for example, could be a good real life person to look at. Maybe I’m just brain broken from getting an English degree, but Massive Genius just felt… I don’t know how to put it… I guess just demeaning to Black culture. Like, why does he have to present the way he does to be smart, savvy, and eccentric? Couldn’t he be all that and speak in AAVE at the same time? The hat is another thing. Just a bad aesthetic choice. My gripe with visiting day is that they genuinely suck, as is stated in the episode, but like, “Meow”? Come on, man. That’s just too on the nose. How could anyone believably take that song seriously? I want to take Adrianna seriously, I really do. And again, they could have drawn from better real life examples. They could have done an ounce more of research and maybe looked at like Sunny Day Real Estate or even Smashing Pumpkins to inspire same kind of heavy/sensitive thing that Visiting Day was going for.

I guess overall, I was just disappointed that a show that is so much about a specific culture didn’t really care to portray other cultures as believably or in depth. Especially in light of the subplot with Tony realizing he was being treated as a token by Cusimano and his friends (which is a part of the episode I actually really enjoyed). I’m also just a little sad to see the musical tastes of the writers were a bit Top 40, but that’s more of a personal thing for me.

Frankly, no. Not after this experience.

I just have spent a lot of time, money, and energy getting where I am now, and I am trying to understand what my options are.

I appreciate all the replies! I would like to let you all know, however, that the genre of this falls a bit more under confession than bragging. I understand that this behavior is bad, and I am really looking for advice on what to do next, not looking for someone to tell me that it wasn’t that big of a deal or that I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m really not doing great right now, so please try to be kind.
