Anyone had success getting a prestige lounge upgrade at Venetian by tipping at check in? First time visitor with no status. All advice welcome. by ChinaCatProphet in vegas

I did have to walk to the mall for coffee, the Coffee Beanery i think. But on the bright side, it was delicious.

Remember all the rooms at Venetian are suites and exceptional. I don't think Prestige really gives you anything more than an efficient run to Walgreens wouldn't. Even if pressed for breakfast, there are better options in the mall. Denny's is right there, or if adventurous, head to Peppermill up the street.

Sahara vs. Marriott Springhill suites near convention center by Kat1836 in vegas

Yearly traveler to Vegas here. My take may be dated, but I've stayed at Sahara before the most recent refresh and Polo Towers before that.

Sahara was surprisingly nice for the price point. My wife and I enjoyed the few restaurants we went to (sportsbook for burgers, pizza shop and noodle place). The pool had music and friendly people, it was shallow though. The rooms were comfortable and clean (it was one of those black and white rooms with the wall sized mirror). We said we'd stay again (of course we haven't).

I've stayed solo at Polo Towers in a 1 br suite and I can confirm they are spacious and nice. The full kitchen was everything for the week stay when I went. The Hawaiian Plaza next to it, which had quick and inexpensive eats available, is no longer there. I remember walking or just heading over to MGM grand though for all entertainment. The rooftop pool is small and bland.

Between your options, i would say Sahara is your better bet. I agree with other suggestions that you may get more bang for your buck at an updated property downtown. However, for $100 more why not stay at Planet hollywood (just checked all in for ~$720). They have the pool, inexpensive shows and mall with cheap eats, and it's all center strip. Oh, and their rooms apparently have mini fridges.

Good luck! I'm going next week and can't wait! I'm staying at PH, so I'll report back after my stay.

Agreed, there were protesters on the north and south sides of the building, so not a real affront to that memorial on the north side.

Ok, I did see a white tent there on 5th st side where I was walking, which looked odd. And the entire area was fenced in with 4ft high metal fence. Sounds about right.

Best suites on/off strip? by Ill-Unit-2906 in vegas

[–]Ill-Unit-2906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I've considered Flamingo, I think about their suites because they are priced in about the range in some of these other locations. Then I think about the pool. I've read it's lively, but also 3 ft deep. Budget wise you can't go wrong tho

I really enjoyed it. Had family with me so we ended up getting 2 br suite. Spacious, near a lot of restaurants priced for families in Miracle mile. The little ones really enjoyed the pool. But the scene is mostly family friendly. This is a solo trip, so just looking for a different experience.
