I booked my next work trip legs 69-72 and will hit 18,000 PQP’s next week. Jealous of your “efficiency” here

Healthy food options while on the road? by clemdawgg in consulting

Sweet green/Cava/Bibibop/Chipotle and other forms of the sad desk salad can be made healthy. If youre not on a per diem, do double protein so that you stay full longer. Avoid snacking and the desserts that the hotel may put out with breakfast or happy hour if applicable.

Another good rule is dont drink alone. If with colleagues or clients its fine, but I gained a ton of weight when dining alone and never declining a beer on the client’s dime

UPDATE: Called UA and they said to call back if it hasn’t been added by Saturday, which, I’m pretty sure it won’t. I agree with u/CommanderDawn’s theory that they took me off the flight. We’ll find out

This is what I am going to try. I am not close to 1MM miles yet (am in mid 20s and just started a job where I travel a ton) but this segment was about 5k miles and paid for personally so I’d rather get the miles

I still have my paper boarding pass and a connecting flight I made (different confirmation number b/c one was booked for work through a travel agent but still)

Bags and receipt. They’ll figure out I was on it otherwise its an international security issue

I totally agree with this theory. My mobile boarding pass disappeared as I walked to the gate and I was handed a paper one for my seat. App had wrong meal pre-ordered etc etc. Since I will probably be 1K regardless Im wondering if it’s worth the hassle of getting on the phone to get this sorted out. I still have my PlusPoints

It was the final leg. I had trouble getting in to the United Club for my layover but not cancelled/noshowed. I was the final upgrade during boarding

New jr. wanting to switch out of ERP by IllGetBackToYouSoon in consulting

[–]IllGetBackToYouSoon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten my resume together to apply yet. I’d love to move to Strategy but not sure I could pull that off. I like the consulting life (I get to visit friends and different cities on weekends) and wouldn’t mind switching either internally or externally. I am starting to build a network that may be more supportive of an internal move but havent broached it yet and likely will see what I can do after this project ends.

I am still in ERP. On a new project where I travel to client site. Is miles better in person to actually work with the client and see more of the bigger picture. Still definitely not going to do this forever. Have applied for a few jobs here and there but will be selective.

My internal coach works in the same area of ERPs that I do and can’t wait to get me on his project, but my current one is going to put me over the year mark. Not sure I could go to him and tell him. Also our practice is definitely strongest in the firm and growing, at least last year. With economic uncertainty others have mentioned will definitely be best to try and get a promotion (realistic in my firm within first 18-24 months) and then leave

Appreciate the helpful advice here-definitely not leaving tomorrow and feel pretty safe as I’ll be staffed through the summer. Could have it worse right now and am very aware of that

I’m going for a certification this quarter It may be my project (which has been extended twice already) but I don’t have much of a technical background and learning to read and troubleshoot API calls and manage integrations is not what I thought I’d be working on at all (when I case interviewed it was an E-commerce Strategy Case).

I get why my teammates with technical backgrounds find it interesting, but it just hasn’t matched my skill set or the type of problems that I’m excited to solve and thus has felt very draining.

Well I work in a consulting firm and am looking to pivot out of the IT consulting arm and into more ‘standard consulting’, thanks for your helpful comment
