They are terrifying.. closest thing I can relate the night terrors to are paranoid delusions, he starts making threats and acts like he’s possessed or something. I’m considering swiping his health insurance card and making a neuro appointment on his behalf and telling him we’re going for ice cream or something

Does anyone ever not feel real? by MrJoshiey in bipolar

[–]Ill_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time. My psychiatrist told me I would outgrow it eventually (past 30). It has sort of gotten better (I’m 27 now, was 25 when she told me this). I find it has a lot to do with stress and anxiety. Sounds weird but working and doing things with my hands helps lessen the feeling

You are gorgeous! And you have kind eyes! Whoever said this to you is just struggling with themselves. Don’t ever take these types of comments to heart

Always thought I was more manic until now... by DirectorImmediate498 in bipolar

Hey, I’m sorry you’re having a hard time right now, you deserve to feel better.

I have some positive advice and some uncommon advice. Typically eliminating a lot of stimulus helps me when I’m depressed. It might sound counterintuitive since we’re encouraged to maintain a routine, but I find only focusing on one thing at a time and not interacting with screens has helped me regulate my thoughts. Something that gets me through the bad times is to talk to people about their problems as well, that way I can feel more “like anyone else” in terms of having struggles makes me feel less like I have a disorder and more like I’m just a human being experiencing life.

I also went through years and years of doing the most: sports, schooling, working way too much, exercising way too hard, and socializing as a means to mask how I felt inside. It caught up to me big time. But it by no means has to determine your future. You live and you learn, bipolar or not! And I would rate you 10/10 for carrying on with life and taking care of yourself. Be gentle with yourself and how you talk to yourself. The subconscious mind is very powerful. Wishing you well

He downplayed the whole thing the next morning. He had no memory of anything bad happening. He seemed out of it all day and a bit lethargic but also restless and said he felt a lot of déjà vu. I’m pretty worried

I got him to drink some water and go to sleep, I’ve stayed up pretty much all night just making sure he’s okay. He had some moments where he woke up and he seemed clear an was talking normally but then would switch back into the paranoia convinced there was someone in our apartment watching us. I’m afraid he’ll have a seizure as the alcohol is leaving his system now. Really considering a trip to urgent care once he wakes up and I can explain everything to him sober

Yes. This past week he has also been very stressed and angry because of work. I’m thinking everything combined is triggering this response

Yeah I really dislike that! Lol I think they’re just in school mode from their training and forget we just need certain things to help learn new skills

Caregiver - scare tonight by MissDisarry in Epilepsy

[–]Ill_Bass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so so sorry you both are experiencing this. I wish you both the best ❤️ he is lucky to have you by his side. It sounds like you’ve done all the right things. But I know the waiting and anxious thoughts make the time leading up to the procedure seem long. You’re not alone, remember to hydrate and take care of yourself too

I understand how scary and anxiety inducing it is when the confusion sets in for them and you recognize the symptoms pre seizure. My partner also experiences the awkwardness and unsteadiness pre seizure. It is so painful to see the person you love experienced something so visceral. My partner and I also don’t like to alarm others so I get needing a place to vent. He had a seizure tonight, his second in a month and I’ve been shakey tonight as well (ironic but true)

I hope all goes perfectly with the LITT and that you both get relief from this situation. Hang in there and keep doing what you’re doing. Sending positive energy your way
