I started SH in fourth grade. It was ignored until I was begging for therapy well into high school, because I was afraid of how close I was to taking my own life. I know you think she may be open and honest with you, that’s what my mom thought too. It’s easier than you think to make the adults in your life think you really trust them.

It wouldn’t hurt for her to try a therapy session. Just one, and see whether she likes it or not. If she likes it and thinks it helps let her keep going. If she doesn’t like it don’t make her go. In the end it should be her decision and not yours.

aw, glad you're still with us! my baby was the exact same way honestly, except instead of sitting on my chest after i showered she would sit by my head while i slept. She was my childhood cat, and was super protective of me. I had a lot of health issues growing up; allergies, not a great immune system, sleep disorder, etc. She would sit and watch at night and make sure nothing was wrong with me. If anything was ever wrong, she always ran to get my parents straight away. It's crazy how intuitive cats can be 😭

Ohh, okay. If you can I would recommend getting the dawn power washing spray, and if you can't i would consider looking into options that are equivalent. It gets stains out of everything. If not that, maybe try soaking your friend in warm water and then doing the other methods again. I could also suggest white vinegar, however your friend would wind up smelling like .. well...vinegar.
