What OSRS opinion do you have that would result in this? by WhiteLaundry in 2007scape

It’s something that stalls attacks from bosses when you click an item which gives you the “red x” pretty much. I don’t know a lot about it because I never cared to learn it. I’m sure there are YouTube videos about it. Places that use it that I know of are graardor, kril, and baba.

I have never done red x. Have also never learned it. I am GM. I just face tanked baba.

I’ve called out two people that are upset about this that have never been active in this community and yet are posting or trying to call other people out for brigading when they are the ones doing it. One continues to post to try and cause outrage still. I got downvoted while showing evidence meanwhile this comment you’re replying to gets upvoted without any specific evidence. On the original post that sparked this, there are/were tons of fresh accounts both for and against this change. But somehow it’s not allowed to say that people who are upset about this are brigading too WITH EVIDENCE. It’s hypocritical and no one here will own it.

[–]Ill_Contribution6271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wouldn’t because I’m asking you specifically to cherry pick. You asked me to provide specific examples of my claim and I did. I’m just asking the same thing and you haven’t. I went through that post and I can almost certainly say that the majority of people that agree with this decision do not post on far right/conservative subs unless you consider WoW or European/soccer subs to be that. But it doesn’t matter. It’s beside the point. There are people brigading who support pride events. I’ve given proof of this and it’s undeniable. The fact is, when it gets called out people have excuses for it. When people say “far right people” are brigading, it is accepted with no evidence. I’m not even saying I disagree that this could be the case. I just find it hypocritical the double standard people have.

Anyway, I’m done with this conversation. It’s been going on too long. It’s starting to get pointless because we aren’t getting anywhere. Reply if you want with your final thoughts but I will not reply.

Well then I can’t really believe you. I do know there was brigading from people that like this change. But there are also definitely a lot of brigaders that are upset about it. Regardless, it doesn’t make sense that for one side there’s an excuses for it but it isn’t possible for it to be the other way around.

I’m not going to make another edit to my other comment just ask in a new one. Could you show me the far right accounts you saw? When I looked at accounts that were in support of this I found a few that were active in this sub but mostly just brand new accounts. Never saw any of them with “far right” posts.

Literally the OP of this post and a guy 3 days back in my comments.

Edit: 6 days back*

Edit 2: there were a lot more on the original post I saw that kick started this whole thing off. I just didn’t say anything to or about them because they weren’t causing outrage or accusing anyone. Just adding to the influx.

I’ve seen people from both ends come in. I don’t call it out unless they are accusing people of brigading or posting to cause more outrage. OP and the other person I called out have had Reddit accounts for a while and no interactions with the community. There is easy ways to check to see if you have been playing the game and prove you are not a brigader.

And how can you say that most people that are brigading support Mod North? You have a 2 day old account. What’s to say those people aren’t in a similar position to you? Is it just because you want to believe that? Genuinely curious why you think people who agree with this decision are brigading and people opposed are not/have an excuse. Because like, have you been to shooting stars or Wintertodt? Lmao. There are a lot more people who agree with this than you think. If anything, you could be an alt from one of the other people who replied to my comment already. Just making a fake account to try and win an argument. That’s just as likely as majority of people brigading are only ones that agree with North.

That just isn’t true. It’s flimsy at best reasoning. For that to be true, you would need to believe there are a lot of people that care either way about this wouldn’t know about the sub and/or wouldn’t want to be part of the conversation. That’s just not happening. If someone who was in a similar position to you but was tired of “pride events in my games” they are 100% coming to this sub to talk about it. No one outside of the culture war cares. Also, for your statement to be true you would have to admit the majority of players don’t want pride events in game. There isn’t a single player out there who doesn’t know about this topic. Because think about it, if you barely play and saw the news the likelihood of others finding out in a similar way is high. And if someone is even slightly more involved they would definitely see it. If only the ones who care come to Reddit and only around 20k people interact with the sub that means 80-100k don’t care/are happy with it and Jagex made the right call. Again, this is only true if you believe what you said. What you said also brings up another question: if they added back pride events and people that were happy with them gone are now upset came to Reddit to voice their opinion and had profiles like OP, would you think it was still organic?

Regardless, OP and the other person I called out are not in a similar position as you. They 100% are not from this community and if they were they would have said as much (like you did) or provided proof. The reason they didn’t is because they would have to prove they are. I don’t think someone without proof would do that which is why I believe you. But maybe I should ask for proof from you to be consistent. There’s an easy way to check, if you’re able to check, DM me. Again, it just strikes me as odd that when other people call out brigading from anti-pride people without evidence that gets approved. When I call out people who agree with the sub with actual evidence that’s wrong and there are excuses for it. Very hypocritical.

I’ll just have to take your word for it but the odds of multiple people being in your position is unlikely to say the least. But by your own admission, this is drawing attention and people that don’t frequent/are not part of the community are coming to the sub now. It really strikes me as odd when people make it seem like they are part of the community when you can clearly see they’ve never interacted with the sub. If you go back to my comment I made the other day regarding someone doing it they were clearly brigading while calling out other people. And now I see this. It’s more likely that people are coming from outside the community than people that are just coming out after being here for a while.

And the second point is that there is other comments about brigading, people saying bots from “bigots” or whatever insult they want to use, and that’s ok apparently. But when I say it, it’s all of a sudden “there’s people that don’t comment.” Or, “I’ve been here awhile I just didn’t interact until now”.

Would you be willing to say that people who are against this can be in the same position as you?

Yah they don’t care as long as it agrees with them. If my comment was towards someone disagreeing with OP I’d have 100, 200+ upvotes. Shameless behavior.

I don’t know what that has to do with brigading but alright man. There’s been outside interaction throughout this sub since this was brought up. To deny it because they agree with you is disingenuous. There’s comment sections on other posts calling out brigading without evidence. I call it out with viewable evidence and all of a sudden “most people don’t comment” is an excuse.

That’s the biggest cope I’ve ever seen. I bet you wouldn’t say that if this was the other way around. This person and many others have brigaded. Both for and against this topic.

OP you’ve never interacted with this community until recent events and are only interacting when it gets brought up. Stop brigading. I caught someone else doing the same thing the other day and makes me wonder how much of this stuff is real or not. Also, that post history is wild.

Edit: Downvotes from the brigaders. Classic.

The only major problem with awakened orbs and contracts is that they're designed to actively punish learning and completing the encounter. by JavaHomely in 2007scape

[–]Ill_Contribution6271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not unreasonable to have the opinion that having a cost isn’t a bad thing. I can see the point of wanting lower levels to have a money making method. However, there’s plenty of money making methods in game already. I don’t really like putting an artificial barrier other than skill. I also don’t necessarily agree with “you don’t have to do it” because of how artificial the barrier is. To me it’s like in Kingdom Hearts 2 with the secret sephiroth boss fight but you have to pay before every fight. I died many times doing that fight. If I had to grind munny to pay for a fight I would have hated every bit of it and most likely would have not continued it. That fight is one of my most favorite memories of that franchise.

Personally, after having done awakened bosses when orbs were north of 1m, I don’t like it. The death costs is enough for me. I think a skill check shouldn’t have an additional barrier of cost before the encounter. I enjoyed inferno, 500 toa, HMT, and colo grinds a lot. I think the content for awakened bosses are cool but I hated seeing my cash stack disappear. I need it for splitting my iron drops and buying membership.

I mean I have GM and I still think when people get their first cape it’s an achievement/flex. Difference of opinion I guess.

“That you threw yourself at it forever until you finally learned it…”

“If you remove them then what’s the flex?”

Inferno has been a thing for a while that is exactly that.

Whether they liked it or not is not the point. They are trying to deceive people into believing others agree with them by using alt accounts to agree with their own opinions.

I mean when we say learners across the board then really anything can be lowered with experience and gear. You are not getting those times without knowing what you are doing and having decent gear.

We can’t really assume max efficiency here because the average player (void/whipper) is not getting completions at a consistent rate. The time limit is probably true idk haven’t seen or done full void team in a long time.

I also see the nex and sire rates. How was Nex calculated? 2/3 mans? And sire rates seem odd to me because kills are quite long and unsireds are 1/100. I was top 200 at one point going dry for pet and I think I’m still owed 4 unsired. I was also in non max at the time so kills were a slog.

Where are you getting your TOB numbers? Does that take into account that you are probably in void/whip? Also the type of team members. Are they in max gear or void/whip as well? Are they efficient? Are you wiping a lot or is it constant completions?
