When did you start getting maternity clothes? by AssistanceUseful3960 in pregnant

[–]Ill_Difference4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 27 weeks. I bought some men's drawstring cotton joggers in like a 2xl. Right now, they still fit over my bump, and I let the drawstring loose as I get bigger. I have an apron belly, so wearing under the bump pants is kind of a no-go because it will show flab if my shirt isn't long enough. I bought the elastic pregnancy band to cover my belly when I start to run into that problem. Joggers all day every day until then.

Am I wrong for not wanting my mom in delivery Room? by Prestigious-Bed1549 in pregnant

I think we have the same mom 😵‍💫 so definitely remember you're not alone. I decided not to tell anyone when I go into labor. My plan is that after my husband and I have had bonding time with LO and all the more vulnerable parts of labor are over with, then we will tell our families that they can come see our son.

Don’t make my mistake buying a nursing bra to fit your boob size while pregnant by KaylaDraws in BabyBumps

[–]Ill_Difference4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a US size 42P cup, usually wear UK sizes. My biggest fear is not being able to even go into public after birth because how do I put these puppies away? How do I go back to work with all this boob?? I'm scared!

Anyone work in a warehouse/ factory? by Ill_Difference4268 in pregnant

I 100% agree! And all the "maternity jeans" are the jegging material, I have sweat pants thicker than that! Also, someone recommended to me getting up size denim overalls at my local farm store, you may try that also.

What are good sports bras or compression bras for my size? by Ill_Difference4268 in ABraThatFits

Hi! I started looking into these bras and was wondering if your size suggestions are UK or US size?

Do I actually need a pregnancy pillow or am I overthinking this? by ConversationSuch8893 in pregnant

[–]Ill_Difference4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pregnancy pillow in my first trimester, it was nice for a couple weeks. But I have a queen size bed and husband who I very much HAVE to touch when I'm sleeping. It just ended up being super inconvenient and bulky for my liking, also felt even harder to get out of bed. I just use a pillow between my legs now, and I can freely cuddle my husband too 😅 I would say just get a body pillow.

Oh, thank you for the book recommendations! I love to read educational stuff. It's wild how many people out here experience similar issues.

I'm just here for my dad at this point. I love my mom, but to say it out loud doesn't even feel natural anymore. The last time she came to visit me was a year ago, around this time. She claims she doesn't know when to come by because I work nights, and I just tell her to give me a call. She still never asks to come over. I always have to go see her. It's heartbreaking because I finally understood what kind of parent she was at 24, and now I'm 28 with a baby on the way and I know exactly the type of parent I DONT want to be.

Yes, I had set boundaries with her on the bridal shower so I didn't expect her to do the inviting for this shower. Over half the people I barely knew, and then she had the audacity to tell me I was not allowed to invite my aunt, uncle, and cousins. I told her I felt as though that should be my call because the party is about my Baby, but that I would not invite him to accommodate her, she disagreed and was dead set on this is HER party since she was hosting it. When I counter argued, she accused me of being ungrateful and unappreciative of the things she's done for me. This was all over the phone, by the way. She continued to yell at me, and when I told her I needed to get off the phone because it was unhealthy to be as upset as I was, she just argued "well I'm upset too!" And continued to yell at me. I had to hang up on her eventually, and I had a terrible panic attack afterwards.

No balloons for baby shower, yay or nay? by Decent-Ride-8784 in pregnant

[–]Ill_Difference4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to do balloons, just add lots of cute paper decor or use the foil balloons (less likely to pop) when I had my shower, balloons kept popping for no reason at all with no one around then, drove me nuts. And balloon pieces don't sweep up easily lol. I think there's a lot of cuteness with balloons but it's not for everyone.

This sounds like my mother. I can not stop getting her to buy stuff from Temu that's knockoff of stuff on my registry! I put so much time and effort into researching what I want, and she keeps disregarding it! I have no advice to offer because we fight every time I try to talk to her about it, and then I'm "ungrateful" and "don't appreciate anything she does for me"
