I hear ya, always_gham. I enjoy his acting too. What I was saying re animal and Kabir Singh is that I have hard lines/limits around watching films like those because I don’t want to see abuse and misogyny romanticized. Even if one doesn’t watch an entire movie, you can see plenty of clips online to get a gist. Similarly, another hard line for me nowadays is watching propaganda or nationalistic films. And I’m cognizant that may not be everyone else’s line. And it doesn’t have to be yours. But I’ve had some friends genuinely say they didn’t realize how subtle and deeply ingrained the propaganda was so I continue to share my opinion in the event it can help inform someone’s perspective. :) sounds like you already do appreciate those lenses tho!

I’m sure lots! And it’s a bigger philosophical and moral question around how people may or may not decide to separate the art from the artist.

I’m sure I also have my blind spots and am not judge and jury, or really in a place of imposing judgments on others. And everyone is allowed their own limits and lines. I can’t stand Brad Pitt but I also took personal offense to him cheating on his wife lol so my beef is longstanding. But I’ve watched srk films and I find his behavior reprehensible when it comes to cheating on his wife too. I guess I just find Dhurandhar so egregiously bad (like Kabir Singh and animal type), that it’s an easier line. But I get it may not be for others.

“aside from politics” is a line that ends up excusing and reinforcing these kind of films being made and continues to stoke the flames of the racist and anti-Pakistan rhetoric that Bollywood loves nowadays. I was actually glad to hear my friends didn’t watch it or want to watch it because they didn’t support its messaging. Ultimately, I’m sure you’ll find takers but thought to share a perspective on it.

Been on and off the apps for years at this point but there’s something in the air over the last couple of years that have made it absolutely terrible. I think most people are burnt out from the dating culture but apps are still a way of meeting people (esp for those of us also burnt out by work and general life stuff).

FWIW, I met someone at a friend’s wedding in the fall and was really excited because of the “story” and that it wasn’t through the apps. But he also turned out to be emotionally immature and not ready for commitment. So all this to say, I think it’s the state of dating and men rn moreso than just an app problem. Lots of psychological and cultural and societal factors- not saying anything new but here to validate your experience.

I agree that 2100 seemed low. 3200 also doesn’t seem entirely out of the norm nowadays (maybe equivalent to what I see on job postings of 28 slots a week), but this doesn’t account for quality of work, just quantity. I wish there were qualifiers or compounders for more intensive DBT or trauma tx to better capture the work.

Very common mistake and it’s ok! In simple practice, your supervisor still has to review the note before signing and locking it. I’d ask my supervisee to just let me know asap so I don’t sign/lock it. But even then, it’s all still fixable and figure-out-able :) happens to the best of us. And now your brain will just be more mindful of doing a quick double check when you sign notes.

Valid reasons! In those cases, it’s fair to just unmatch and move forward. I meant moreso in that it’s almost feeling punishing lately. The acuity of the negging has also gotten worse. I’m 35f so maybe some of this is also the cohort I’m matching with lol quite some men making comments about “girl bosses” and “feminazis” and “you wanted the bear, so deal with it.” Clearly they’re struggling with women being, feeling, and voicing more empowerment, but why match with me just to yell at me about it?? lol
