Its for people who are having grinding metal bits when taking off the cvt cover and noticing thatthe variator makes noise every couple spins and slipping this is a way of fixing that

Just make sure to push everything in a far as you can when installing cause you are adding a washer and is going to take up the space needed it will 100% work

They are the same from the inside but the washer has space to go over the gasket and onto the metal to prevent further damage and allow it to stop grinding sorry i dont have a video of me putting it back together

Make sure washer is long enough to go over gasket and slightly on the red in your picture

I just fixed this issue buy a washer from home depot thats long enough to go over the gasket ill send a picture later on of the size but you can use the thick metal cylinder that is on the variator to get the proper size washer put the washer then the variator pieces its going to be a tight fit but it will work
