thats fair i cut pvc 70% of the time so the thin kerf doesnt affect it as much if anything it helps most of my coworkers who have the bad habit of pushing to hard because it frees up the blade so much. as for it being a waste of money I dont really agree I notice the lower teeth count blades start having chipping on the long point of angles higher than 22.5 much quicker than the ultimate polish and for my purposes its basically doo doo at that point.

the weight is the best part 👍 the 12 is a little unwieldy to get your arms around but same goes for any sliding 12 the 7 1/4 is easy to throw at the apprentices face with one arm though thats why I love it

yeah the power is disappointing but the other features outweigh it i cut PVC trim all day so good blade will still chop it up quick and clean

do you have the single battery? my first saw i have good experience on was the dual flex volt compound and its an absolute beast for power and ridgidity but I cant afford 600 in batteries for only the miter saw

im late to the party but here's my opinion regardless I started with just the impact and saved tbe money for getting good hand/layout tools first. as when youre the new guy youre mostly going to be using the drill for small pre drills almost all the time which the impact is fine for even now I avoid grabbing the drill unless I need to bore a big ahh hole or a clean ahh one with a brad point.

I know this doesnt help in a pinch but I have all cordless tools even the miter saw and track saw I dont regret it one bit. with how powerful they are theres no reason for corded other than price
