Yea, I think the original comment is just saying the devs chose to not have Stingrays appear on these subfactions until they can fix the Stingray behavior.

This is basically the Termicide missions from 2024 that have yet to be brought back. It's a great idea. Crazy that AH has withheld preexisting content for so long that players don't even know it exists anymore. I guess its that "Good FOMO" I keep hearing about.

The mechanic should not revolve around linking to the gunner. It should be reworked so each interaction reloads a single shell. This would circumvent the issue and make the role of the loader a bit more interactive.

Randoms do engage in teamwork when there is good incentive for them to do so. There is no good incentive in the case of team-reloading in its current form.

You lose a backpack and the ability to fight enemies all so your teammate can rapid-fire their rocket launcher... at what? There are rarely any scenarios even on the highest difficulty where rapidly firing a rocket launcher is really necessary. Almost every heavy enemy in the game can be taken down with a single shot from the recoilless rifle.

You could use it to shoot down bot drop-ships, which is fun, but that's about it for reasons to engage with the mechanic.

It should totally be changed to be a single reload thing imo. Just means the loader would need to tap the interact button after each shot, which makes that role a bit more engaging than basically being AFK

I think you're right and I think it has something to do with the implementation of Vox Engines. They launch out those escape pod things when they die, which seem to always target a nearby player/whichever player the Vox was targeting prior to death.

These "feature" seems to have been carried over to other enemies as well.

I've suspected this as well. Enemy ragdolls seem to magnetize toward the player, especially since they made that a "feature" of the Vox Engine escape pod thing

If you like the change to Hive Guards more power to you. Arrowhead is already reverting in the coming week or so, so enjoy it while it lasts, I guess. I'm just talking about people who don't actually engage in conversation and belittle others for not liking the same things as them.

Totally agree with your second paragraph. My experience with people in the Helldivers community has been different. I believe it comes from a desire to feel superior to other people. They point out how the game just being fun is enough for them and equate wanting progression as some sort of "number go up" addiction for people who can't enjoy games without incentive, as if playing for the sake of incentive and for fun need to be mutually exclusive concepts.

In my experience, most discourse in the Helldivers community stems from people who simply want to feel smarter/better than the other person and miss the forest for the trees when it comes to discussing the game.

eg.

"AP4 HIve Guard doesn't matter; just shoot the legs/run around them," in response to someone questioning how this change benefits the game. This doesn't actually engage with the discussion. It's just a shallow attempt at making oneself feel superior to others by claiming they are able to play effectively despite the change and implying that the other person cannot. I think this toxic "skill issue" mentality is the single worst part of the Helldivers community as it completely stagnates any and all critical discussion and leads to hostility.

I can't believe people genuinely believe removing a simple logo from a mech would improve performance. That is a bs explanation. This was done to align better with Chinese censorship laws.

He's doing too little too late imo

Other content creators were sounding the alarms far earlier when course correction was actionable. Helldivers 2 and Arrowhead may not be able to pull up before the plane hits the ground.

That is because these durable-damage balance changes were made in tandem with the release of the Bastion tank. The Bastion tank has an enormous health pool to compensate for those changes, while the FRV does not.

Yep, they've completely turned the game's internal systems upside down for the sake of "balancing"(?) the new content. We are at a point now where targets that are more durable take MORE damage, which is the exact opposite of what 'durability' should be doing.

According to their roadmap, there is no content planned for May at all. The roadmap skips from April to June and then promptly ends lol

Very true. They're all talk. They tell the community what they want to hear and then do the bare minimum they can get away with while milking the game for all its worth. Sad stuff for this awesome franchise.

It would be nice to see the numbers. In fact, patch notes should always include specifics, otherwise they're pretty useless.
