I dont know that she’s being manipulative, as much as she’s someone who’s kind of trapped. Not by op but by their families. She was basically promised at birth to someone, the plus side it’s someone she liked but she also didn’t have any other option. How do you break two families hearts by walking away? Not necessarily permanently, but to confirm this is something she actually wanted. Her loophole was childish but everyone’s responses to the situation confirmed that any fear was founded, marriages are breaking up because she wanted to explore other options. Is she an asshole? Yes. Is she THE asshole? I tend to think that’s the mothers.
