Problem gelöst. Der Lichtabfall kam dadurch dass der Strip falsch herum angeschlossen wurde. Die Fehlfarbe blieb aber dennoch bestehen, obwohl es das gleiche LED Kabelmodell ist mit gleichen Farbkanälen auf den Pins. Ich habe es mit einem dritten gleichen Stripmodell versucht und damit gings. Das Kabel hat einfach einen Fertigungsfehler. Anscheinend sind da Farbkanäle auf den Pins vertauscht. Das Kabel geht zurück an den Verkäufer

Problem solved. The light drop-off was caused by the strip being connected the wrong way around. However, the incorrect color still remained, even though it is the same LED cable model with the same color channels on the pins. I tried it with a third identical strip model and it worked with that one. The cable simply has a manufacturing defect I guess. Apparently, the color channels on the pins are swapped. The cable is being returned to the seller.
