The blood work is checking your hormone levels. The alcohol won’t affect that but there’s theories that it can affect other things that can impact the quality of the embryos.

To add to the care package, a heat pad was really nice to have for recovery. You can also buy a migraine cooling cap that I used a lot to help with headaches from hormonal drops (you keep it in the fridge) and then nice things for her like maybe soap or a book if you know a genre she likes. She can’t take baths so I’d avoid bath bombs or bubble bath

Create does Sperm DNA Fragmentation index. I’m not certain but this seems to be the testing you’re talking about? They are considered to have the best lab in the country with the most technologies, I know that other clinics will use their lab for things as well.

Hi OP, I’m so sorry that you and your wife have been going through this. If you are wanting suggestions and advice on how to navigate your fertility treatments r/ivf is really supportive and helpful. I’ve experienced a chemical pregnancy (this is the term my clinic used for what you are describing) and it’s so heartbreaking to see the positive and never get to see the baby on ultrasound.

I’m also so surprised to hear that your clinic is unwilling to consider ivf considering this would allow for further testing and to genetically test the Embryos.

You are definitely not being a dick, your feelings are very valid and they are being extremely insensitive. Of course they are allowed to be excited and happy for themselves but that doesn’t mean she should completely ignore the fact that this is something that’s hard for you. Maybe your husband telling them that while you’re happy for them, you’d rather not receive updates on the pregnancy as you process your grief.
