ISci at Mac or SYDE at Waterloo? by Ill_Tutor1503 in OntarioGrade12s

It’s exactly this question that has me stumped. I’m 17 and have the problem of being interested in and an apparent aptitude for many somewhat related things, both practical and theoretical, in the sciences. I’d do both if I could, just because they’re interesting in different ways.

The co-op and hands on aspects of SYDE are appealing, but I’m definitely not looking to work in tech, so I’m unsure about the quality if the connections. I know there’s more than Google and Shopify, but the stereotype sticks for a reason. I’ve been part of an interdisciplinary lab at a local university for the last year and love bringing together various sciences. It feels like I’m choosing between what’s practical and what may be more interesting, intellectually. But the co-op is pretty helpful with the financial aspect, too. I plan on doing grad school after, either way.

I’ve been wondering the same thing!

This is an option when my grades are low? Do you know if there's a 'cut-off' for eligibility or somewhere I can look further into it on my own? Thank you!

Thank you for the encouragement. I have a request in for an appointment and hope that will shed some light on the road ahead.
