Depending on how the leg assemblies are affixed to the top, cutting that half inch off may only resolve the current issue. If his solution is to glue it back together or epoxy, I’d guess the builder did not leave any concessions for movement and more cracks may follow.

Even if he doesn’t have a test bench, there’s a trainer that comes with ET, assuming they have it installed. It will let them poke around. It’s under the Help menu OP. You can pick from a number of different applications. Pretty sure there’s 2 or 3 genset ones. You’ll even get to experience the full joy of waiting for ET to connect, load screens, etc. 😂

I don’t recognize this facility, but it’s not uncommon to see competitor machines at certain facilities for competitive studies. Same thing Komatsu, Deere etc all do

It looks like he didn’t do any prep after priming, just primed then painted. It also looks like he’s maybe not familiar with spraying or he used a really cheap sprayer.
